Clutch Help!!!!
I have a 05 V with a stock clutch and flywheel. Im lloking to upgrade becuase my clutch is slipping really bad now.
I have been looking at the spec and the monster clutch kits.
This is what i have done to the car:
maggie with 2.8 pulley maybe upgrade to 2.6 soon
headers
corsa exhuast
90mm throttle body
intake
and tuning
can you please help me with what stage clutch kit will be the best for still a daily driver but hold the power?
May put little spray on the car down the road but for now its staying like this.

06 up Z06 vette. Sorry I dont have any part numbers but yes its the slave/throwout bearing, flywheel, pressure plate, and disc with the stock pilot bearing. Just go to any of the speed shops to the right or search LS7 clutch. I'm sure will find lots of info.

LS9 if the wallet will allow.....I'm stock for the most part and after about 6 mos of research and limping around on the stock clutch I've decided to go with the LS7.... I haven't read anyone that's unimpressed with it yet....I have found if you ask 100 people you will get 150 different opinions on clutches.

There is a Cadillac dealer that sells the LS7 kit for the CTS-V. If you search the cadi owners site you'll find tons of info on it, I believe the entire kit is $650. The slave is actually not the slave that is used in the ZO6, it has to be a different length for the V. The correct part number for the slave is 24237634.
The LS9 setup is a dual disc, is expensive and requires a 'custom' flywheel because the LS9 and LSA crankshafts have 8 bolts and every other LS motor has 6. There are two companies that sell the flywheel, Lingenfelter and Katech. The latter sells the entire kit for $1300 without a new slave cylinder. The LS9 clutch kit is the same installed height as the stock CTS-V clutch and flywheel and therefore (unfortunately) uses the stock CTS-V slave cylinder. I say unfortunately because it is almost double the cost of any other GM slave cylinder.
I have run the LS7 kit and the LS9. Neither kit ever chattered or made any noise at all. That is the main reason I went with the LS9 when I got more torque than the LS7 could handle. To be honest, I don't feel much of a difference in engagement between the two. The LS7 is a little easier to push than stock and the LS9 is about the same. If you change the pulley and add spray, you'll probably have too much for the LS7.

Monster stage 3 has done great for me with no chatter. Pedal feel is almost stock, but I caution, this clutch grips so well, it will find the weak links in your drivtrain.

So what makes you think the slaves are different? They are the same length between the LS2/C6 and the LS7/C6. In fact, anything you look up shows the same part number for both. They both use the same recessed flywheel as well.

I was talking about going from the C6's to the V, not between the two C6's. As I had understood it, the C6 required a different length slave than the V. I just did some research and found I was wrong. The part number I listed above is used for the LS7 kit in the V and it is used in the manual C6's.

So if I use the ls9 clutch who makes that aluminum or steel single mass flywheel? And what slave to use with it? I get Gm parts 10% above cost so the extra is t much more like 150. But the just want to make sure I gethe right stuff. Thank you all for the info

I have driven about 5 v's so far with different clutches and I have to say a twin is this cars best friend.

I've got the Katech LS9 on mine and it is truly fantastic. Extremely smooth, no chatter and plenty of torque capacity (I have a maggie.) I haven't driven an LS7 clutched V so I can't comment on any difference but I'm a big fan of the LS9.
