anyone elses V suck on snow?? So we got a light dusting of snow last night (no more than an inch) and I attempted to take the V out to get some groceries. Well turns out I couldnt back out of my driveway w/o turning on the traction control on and I almost got stuck coming out of the walmart parking lot.
Anyone else have these issues? Any way to fix them besides new tires?

I have Alpine Pilot PS2's in the stock size on my car. 2 record snow winters(we have 6-8' snow banks for the last month, 30-60cm snow on a few days) and never close to being stuck. The V is actually pretty amazing in snow with winter tires and stability control deifnately helps turning the car if you're starting to plow in a turn.
With summer tires you're always going to be nervous and/or get stuck. Summer tires on a 4wd vehicle suck in snow! Even all seasons on my gf's Jeep are pretty crappy.

We got almost 30" of snow this month in SE Michigan. I have the Pilot snow tires as well and the V drives great in the snow. Never an issue over the past 3 years. Snow tires are the answer.

It takes some getting used to, that's for sure. We had a good snow in central texas a few weeks ago. I'm from the northeast, so I grew up driving in snow and on ice. The car is stable once you get her going. But stopping and starting is a pain. And backing up, my front end didn't move back a foot, my *** end slid 90 to the right out of a parking spot. It allowed me to drive forward so I didn't get out of the slight throttle I was giving. Having a cam might make it worse than stock. I never drove it stock in snow.

I ditched the Runflats and got a set of Michelin Piot Sport A/S Plus tires.
The car goes reasonably well in snow - to a point. Say like < 6 inches. Of course, I never did get the chance to see how some added weight in the trunk would help. I'm sure it would make the car dig in even better.
These tires ride smoother and quieter than the Runflats, and still hook up in 1st gear.(My car is stock)

I suspect the "suck" factor depends greatly on tires. Mine was awesome all winter long with Wintersport M3's.
I've already swapped them off for some KDW's, and have my fingers crossed that we don't get some crazy April snow or something. I am sure these would be miserable in even a dusting of snow.

I was running KDW's when I totaled my 'V in the snow 2 wks ago... Be careful!

In Toronto, Canada here got stuck once even with a set of new winter tires on the car was
around 8" of fresh snow on the ground, just pushed it with the bottom front end.
I added two bags of sand in the tire compartment in the trunk and have never had a problem yet.
On stock tires it would be a nightmare!

Odd, your 400 horsepower rear wheel drive sedan is bad in the snow? LOL...
I think it'd be fun to drive it in the snow, but since I have a duramax too, I don't exactly have to worry about getting stuck.
