12.8 is not bad. Might get a few more ponies out of 13.0.
Unless I missed it and you installed an adjustable timing set, you can not adjust the timing. The cam is installed dot to dot. All that can be done after that is to verify that it is correct with a wheel. If you are one tooth off, the car will run like ****. Timing is already ground in to the cam.
Also, of course the car would run better with better heads. But by no means are the stock heads not sufficient for this cam. You didn't mention, 5.7 or 6.0?
Did you own the car before it was originally tuned? Would love to compare those numbers to the cam/new tune numbers. That would be more telling of your results.

I bought the car with catback and cold air. Had it dynoed made 360. Installed headers, had it tuned/dynoed it made 382. That was on the same dyno. Now I had the cam done (different place) ... They baseline dynoed it when I dropped it off. On their dyno it made 370, they did the tune/dyno and it made 385.... It's an ls6.... I'm saying I expected like a 25-30 HP gain

Do you guys think this would work well. 231 237 .589 .595 112. For a daily driver .. will it work well with the stock heads..? Thinking of switching to that cam

But I agree with you in that even with the car already tuned, 25 rwhp is not too much to expect. If you take him up on doing another cam, don't get an off the shelf cam. Might as well get a custom made cam. They generally do not cost anything extra.

If you really dont want to do heads, then take him up on redoing the cam for free. Talk to him about what you want FIRST (HP gains, if you want the power down low or high, streetable, etc) then get them or someone else to do a custom grind for you.

360+ rwhp SAE corrected on an otherwise stock LS6?
Sorry, it does not.
~ 35rwhp from two almost non-hp derived items, leaves just the tune to get up there... its iffy. never seen it on our new eddy current dynojet.
CAI doesn't do too much, and a cat back is for changing sound, again, very close to zero if any gains HP/TQ wise. And mufflers are zero.

Also remember, slamming on the brakes, or other 'silly' mistakes used on the dyno, puts this precision tool out. Regular maintenance and calibration is sometimes required. Again, many shops cheap out on this... everyone would rather just say, BAhh every dyno is different.
Its a x0,000 dollar precision tool, it SHOULD give you the same TRUE number over and over. Regardless if our shop has one, or the one down the street just bought one.. there should be NO difference. Calculations are a standardized thing from IEEE and AE...
I always suggest to inquire getting the DA values (your humidity, temp etc...) with UNCORRECTED numbers...it helps with comparing.

I have yet to see an LS6 dyno as low as 325whp on a dynojet. Thats only 10 whp more than many 01-02 f-bodies put down with stock LS1's.

I ask my tuner about a cam for my ls2. He said 15 to 20 HP. He said the ls2 from gm is hard to improve with just a cam. Head/cam is a different story. So I did a Maggie and haven't looked back.
