Default poor caddi..

well was driving to work in the caddi the other day, and all of a sudden sputter sputter die.....so got it towed home, and took the MDX to work, hoping it was just the fuel pump or filter, checked the fuel pump, and it was fine, the filter was extremely dirty, so that was swapped, and attempted to start it.....and low and behold rod knock.....I seriously dont understand my luck....I was putting down the road at 45 mph in 6th gear, so like 1200 RPM's, and something like this happens....now I gotta figure out what I am going to do about this as far as fixing/replacing it

ya, I def want to build up the bottom end since its going to all need to be replaced anyway....just got to figure out what to do.....I dono if I want to do stroker or not.....just seems, that i'd have to pay the 2k for the stroker kit, than even more just getting the block machined....cant decide if i want to do that, or just forge the bottom end for spray or something

Same motor that, after the cam and exhaust installation was burning/losing oil for a while? Have you figured out which cylinder is affected?

Yes, the same motor, once I fixed the issue with the burning oil, it hasn't burned oil since, and I have had pretty much no problems what so ever before this happened, but i haven't pulled the motor and tore it apart yet, I plan to do that and see the extent of the damage before I make any final decisions. I'm pretty sure the block itself is fine, just the internals, that will need to be replaced, but will def check it over thoroughly before buying anything.

So this means you might not have rod knock... Were You using stock heads and springs with your cam?

the heads were stock, I had new spring and retainers and pushrods in the head. If it turns out that the block is fine, I may just spend this time, to put some new heads on there, and get me a big boy cam, since the one I have in there is such a little guy.

I mean hopefully you didn't damage your piston. But yeah, now's definitely the time to go bigger. Lifters, rockers, better heads, big *** cam. We'll be praying everything on your bottom end is in tact.

If you saw peices of the valve the piston in that cylinder is done.

Here are some pics of the carnage that we discovered.....Looks like I will be replacing one piston, and the heads. I'm also going to have the bearings in the block checked, and replace those while were in there.
