Default Factory cut springs or Eibach/H&R

I bought the car with factory cut springs and love the look. I will be replacing my front shocks soon and while I have everything out would it be a good idea to swap out the factory cut ones with aftermarket? I would end up picking up a used set for like 200 or something, would it be worth it for the money? How different is the ride? Better/worse? Also it looks like the car will be a little higher than it is now after looking at pics of other lowered cars which gives me a little more ground clearance if I ever end up installing headers.

Sounds like a good idea to me... I've never been a fan of cut springs.

Ran cut springs on my old car and loved em. It was slammed and rode good for cut springs. If u can get the height u want and save the money... Why not?

But... H&R's are nice springs if u wanna buy a set.

If you dont mind the ride of cut springs and want to keep it low go with the Eibach. These and some 35 series tires in the front, nice and low, rides like **** but handles a lil better.

Cut em and if you're not happy with em buy the aftermarket ones. Mighty Mouse can give you some really good advice on how much to cut to get the height you want.

My thoughts exactly, i loved the H&Rs on mine. One of the best mods I did and it rode like stock.

Sounds like fun but the cut springs scares me on a 4000 pd car...

I've lowered tons of my cars with aftermarket springs. However on this V, this is the first time I have cut springs. I had less than $10 invested in cutoff discs and I love how it turned out. I do not notice any difference in ride quality. However I did only remove one coil from the rear only.

Not a fan of cut springs, but I've done it that way before and it was an acceptable ride

What about the K-Sport or D2 coilovers that can be had for less than $1000? They are fully adjustable but im not sure what they come with for springs rates or if they even have different options for them? Heard they were good though for the money if you dont want to spend $2200 on some KW Variant 3's.

I have some brand new in the box H&R's and ill prob throw them on to see how they sit on the car. If they arent low enough, i'll be tempted to just cut my stockers a little lower like i did on my old car and sell the H&R's.

$1000 is a little more than I'm looking to spend. What replacement shock options are out there besides the fe4 and fg2 that will not brake the bank?

Im really not sure. Havent heard anyone talk of any shocks for our cars other than those two factory options and the coilover kits. QA1's are prob the only aftermarket shock if seen anyone run on a V but they aren't cheap.

O'reilly sells KYB's and monroes... can't comment on how they compare though. Also QA1s and T2s. However the T2s are no longer available.

Im curious to know how they would perform on our cars. Would be nice to do away with the self leveling.
