Default HID question

what aftermarket bulbs are you guys using?? i used a cheap hid an now its eaten a balast... i have a set of extras, just wondering why when you use the aftermarket bulbs they are killing my balast in a matter of a few weeks. any suggestions... im ran some cheap 10k d1s bulbs and now after 2 balast, i know it has to be the hids... they are 35w just like the factory bulbs... maybe cheap ignitors are causing the ballast to fail... any help would be greatly appreciated

Im having an issue with one of mine as well. Tempted to just order a complete HID kit with ballasts and all for both headlights and fog lights.

LAYGO... Car looks good man. Where did u get that solid silver sticker for the caddy emblem? I have the black ones with the smaller silver skulls on mine but that looks good on silver...

Mine came with sidemarkers yes. That's sidemarker is super easy to swap. 2mins. I've got an LED 194 in there, not the 5k one like in the headlight.

Ok cool. $300 bucks though for the fogs and markers? I like the look for sure but considering my headlights have a little fading/oxidation crap on top like almost all these cars do, im tempted to just smoke them all and spend the money on something else i want for it.

I saw em for $279 yesterday, but I had like a 10% or 20% off coupon on them when I ordered.

Oh ok. I just gotta decide now if i want to smoke my stockers. The fog part is the same so HID's should look the same in both.

Get the base cts (non v) clear fogs off ebay and save yourself $50. They are the same fog/turn housings just swap the outer frame with your V frames with the brake duct. Like 2 push pins and the adjuster is all that holds them in place. Very easy.

To the OP, i have the low priced D1S lamps off flebay (3000k 35w) and have han no problems with ballest or anything else. 9 months so far.
