Is a 4% difference from front to rear tire size a major concern for stability/traction control? 245-45-18 front and 275-45-18 rear.

Na, you'll be fine. Your car will be going a few miles faster than the speedo shows and you'll go farther than the odometer shows.

You may have stab control issues with that much of a difference in tire size. You should try and keep the front and rear tires as close to the same diameter and or circumference as possible.

Why not go with 275/40 on the rear and there will be no real difference.

i got a set of nice continentals that were 275/45/18 for $100 ea.... i was not going to pass that up. I just don't know how big the difference has to be for the traction control of stability control to activate. I sure as hell don't want it activating at freeway speeds for no reason.

I want to say 4% is a large enough difference to trigger the stability control... however I don't have first-hand experience to back that up.

Im on 245 35 19 up front and 275 30 19 in the rears. And I am fine. Going up to 285 30 in teh rears next time.

biggie I have 245/45/18 on the front and 265/40/18 on the rears (instead of the 275's most ppl run). No probs dont know if that helps.

That's only a 1.3% difference. Non-issue.

Your current setup is only a 1% difference, and going to 285 would make that a .1%

I am running 245/45 Front and 275/40 rear...no serious issues. Outside of a slight rub after I went lower, but that has been fixed.

OP, there it will not be a huge deal going 245/45 275/45 front and rear. However, you will see the the stabilitrak and T/C engage a little more then with stock size at all 4 corners. But the way I faxed that is, I drive with "Competive Driving Mode" on at all times (unless there is rain/wet roads). If you are lowered, you will need to roll the lip on the inner fender well, or you will see some rubbing.

Having a smaller or larger rolling diameter from stock won't be an issue. It's the difference from front to back that's the issue.

I ran 245/40 18 track rubber all the time with zero issues. I had 245/45 18; 275/40 18 street rubber for years with zero issues.
