I'm getting ready to install my LT OBX headers w catted connections this week and I'm going through my parts list. I want do this right the first time.

What are the ideal clamps to fit these connection pipes?

I'd prefer to order from Summit because they'll have the fastest shipping to me and I'm ordering some other parts too.

Yes... Get the band style clamps. My car has standard clamps and they look like **** and hang down under the car. I'll be switching to those ones u posted in the link soon

Just put OBX headers on my sons Camaro today and they came with decent clamps. If yours did not come with them I would use the Dynatech ones you have in the link. Or any other band style not the ones that compress the pipe.

SINGLE bolt band clamps... the 2 bolt clamps are garbage and even after you tighten them with an air tool they will leak

I don't know which ones I have. They came on the car. I just know they hang low and I don't like them. Might be able to adjust them a little better or turn them to a better position but the way they are, they stick out and hang lower than the rest of the exhaust. It's a U bolt with the piece that slides over the opposite side and has 2 bolts (one on each side) that tightens it up. It does the job... Just ugly.

Thanks for the suggestion. I like the taper in them that fits over both pipes.

I take it you're saying this about the straight 2 bolt band clamps. Do you think the tapered one mentioned above would fix that problem?

Both of those will work but the second one with the single bolt are the ones that were on my old magnaflow catback and they worked fine and didn't hang low.

ARP is crazy thinking those simple studs are worth $120. I like these with the standard octagonal nut anyway.

Checked on summit's application verification - only lists the older chevy v8's..

I had a bad experience with header studs on a fox body I had back in the day. It came with them and that's the only car I ever had them on. Pain in the ***. I couldnt ever get more than just a couple of the studs to bottom out in the head like they all should have. Header bolts however have always worked fine for me so I really don't see the advantage to the studs.

Don't DO IT MANG! haha seriously i have those exact same band clamps on my SW 3in exhaust.. got it used missing clamps.. i thought they would be an upgrade. WRONG.. they leak slightly.. i can tell becuase there is a line of soot right at the seam where they tighting down.. learn from my mistake.. go for the single bolt band clamp OR weld the fvcker in hahah

when i do the 8.8 they are coming out and the singles are going in

I'm voting for the singles as well. Although no band clamp will be perfect, try will tighten it better than the doubles. Once I get my exhaust the way I want it 100%, I'm
Going to weld it all solid so I'm guaranteed no leaks

I always enjoy running open header to the exhaust shop. Agree with NeverSatisfied- weld.

X2. The 1" wide band clamps work best on stainless steel exhaust because they have a tighter clamping force. Stainless steel is stubborn because it always wants to go back to its original shape.

Wide 2 bolt (flat or stepped) band clamps only work on aluminized tubing that is softer and more flexible.

HINT: When installing the 1" wide band clamps, coat the inside of the clamp, the bolt, spacer and the pipe with WD40 or some sort of silicone lubricant. It helps the clamp slide as it is being tightened. Also, make sure that the I or H shaped center divider is centered as you tighten the clamp otherwise you will stretch the clamp and render it useless.
