No it's not an illusion, it's tight in there!

Nik you should come down here, now that I've done it once it would go much faster, plus I've gotten pretty good at welding tubing, we could fab it up pretty quick! Could get those spacers made too... Would give you even more options for filtration. Just sayin...

Well it has a hard miss at peak torque. So we will have to change out the plugs and wires and hopefully that problem goes away, and then the tune can be finished. But even at that we hit 640 RWHP, and ~540 RWT! We aren't measuring boost, so I have no idea where it is. Probably in the 10-11 psi range.

My goal was 650, so I'm happy!

D*mn it!! Steven called, cylinder #5 is the culprit. After going through all the checks, it looks like possibly the wiring between the coil pack and ECM may be the problem.

So far I'm really impressed with East Texas Muscle cars. They seem to be the best shop I have dealt with yet!

And it's up to 660 on HP! But I will not get the car back until Monday at best..

Vids will be coming!

Everything was moved around and it always stayed with cylinder #5. Coils, plugs and wires, injectors. Pulled valve springs and checked compression and they seem fine also. Cylinder compression is good. It has to be wiring??

Tracing from cylinder back, yea it seems like the wiring is the culprit. Unless there is a little mustang fairy in there trying to give 4.6L FoMoCo products a chance.

Yea, sorry I've been really busy with work and school, I barely visit the site lately.

I retrieved the car from East Tx Muscle Cars, they tried diligently to find the problem for 3 months, but no luck. It is still missing. I don't blame them, I think this is a weird gremlin. Unfortunately over the weekend while messing around trying to cure the problem, I broke the inner stub on my driveshaft shop axle! So, hopefully the replacement stub will be here next week and the saga will continue!

Yes it's the driveshaft shop's stage 5 "1,000 HP" rated axles. I'm only on street tires, so I think this failure is a total fluke. There is no way I am stressing these parts anywhere near their limits. Anyways they said the new stubs are a better design, and I should never again have any problems.

I'm getting really pissed at this misfire. I am running out of ideas. But maybe since the gremlin got to eat an axle, he will be happy now and leave me alone!

I broke 3 of those on much less HP, i think it was 2 driver, 1 passanger. Your lucky yours sheered off where it did, and not inside the diff like mine. Not fun punching out the spline when its broken off at the ring gear.
Anyway nice build, glad to see your close to fruition.

I guess you've tried the obvious for the miss, plug, wire, coil swap, and injector swap?
