So I swapped out the speed bleeder for a conventional style.

And bled my new slave and hydraulics.

Now I'm working on my hydraulics and calling it a night. This fluid isn't even 10 days old.

Rolling with dime store dot4 now. Done adulting for the day.

Still loving the twin, but mixed feelings about the tilton slave.

What I discovered was that the Tilton slave has a thick O-ring behind the piston that is compressible under clutch loading. As a result, you need to close the distance more than you would with an OEM or McLeod slave. I'm still experimenting to find the correct offset to compensate.

Read through the literature on the tilton site also. Stay away from brake fluids with above 550f dry boiling point as the additives in them will cause the seal to swell.

I'm searching for a happy low viscosity fluid (for ease of pedal effort) and have settled on ATE 200 class 6. Doesn't contain the seal swelling additives(I hope) and I am searching high and low in Dubai to avoid internationally shipping a liter of brake fluid.

This swelling causes the slave not to be able to retract fully, which is causing a heard of angry crickets to sing forth a symphony from under my car until its above 1400 rpm or I depress the clutch pedal.

If everything continues to behave like this, I will put in a Sachs master cyl (stock) and Luk OEM dual mass style slave and run the ACT spacer.

I am however hoping that the dime store dot4 will stop the swelling and it does in fact seem to have lessened since swapping everything in a day or so ago.

I do all sorts of terrible things to my V everyday. Then put it away hot and wet. It loves it.

Tracked down Viktor Bout's abandoned aircraft left here in after his arrest.

Yes that is the aircraft of the lord of war. What is left of it anyway.

I have had good success with ate 200 in my track car and my V. More so than quote racing brake fluid and it's more readily available.

Thanks for the feedback! Did it reduce the pedal effort, or about the same as dot4?

I love how motul feels, but want to stay within the limits.

I will have to order ATE unfortunately. Shipping is more than it costs lol.

As is usual in Dubai, everything is available except what you need.

The pedal to me stays more consistent. Not traveling as close to the floor after a abusive track session. Which would trip me out cause I've used several racing brake fluids. I would have to bleed the **** out of them. I've never used castrol brake fluid yet but it's so expensive.

Replaced the cheap CPP (clutch pedal position) sensor.

I need to get/make a test lamp so I can try to figure out how far power is making it.

EDIT: When I turn the key to START, everything in the car goes dead. Is that normal? I'm wondering if that does normally happen, but I don't notice it because it's just a quick flicker - the engine starts and everything immediately comes back on. On the other hand, this is exactly what my Subaru was doing when the ignition switch died a few weeks ago - as soon as I turned the key to START, everything would die.

Everything going dead while the key is in the IGNITION position is normal. When I had an issue with my clutch pedal position switch (which prevented the car from starting), I had the same question.

Well, damn, I was hoping I had found something unusual that might point me towards a fix.

New CPS went in with the new clutch MC, so I should be fine there.

It can be, that sensor is a two position switch. Mine just happened to fail on the part that needs to be satisfied in order to start. My buddy had his fail and his cruise control would not work and during neutral coasts, the car ran slightly different.

Ugh. That hurts. Pos-v strikes again! If the v1s didn't have bad luck we would have none. Just the door or did if jack up the unibody?

The B pillar seems OK. I'm thinkin a front door/glass replacement, re-skin the rear door, new ground effects skirts, paint to match with a re-clear blend down the fender and rear quarter. I'd be surprised if it was totalled.

And here I was, thinking "I should wash this POS this weekend."

A woman in a Saturn coupe was attempting to make an illegal u-turn across traffic from a turn lane to my right and turned directly into me as I swerved and laid on the horn. Clearly, I was half way past her as she accelerated into me.
