When using a poly carrier mount that locates the driveshaft to center, Which is where a new factory or new aftermarket transmission mount is most happy, you may run into a misalignment issue if you have a worn OEM trans mount, or any aftermarket inserts that raise the stock height of the transmission. Shimming with machine washers either the carrier bearing bracket or the transmission mount to align the units is important if you have a sagging transmission mount. You'll want as little misalignment in the rubber flex disc as possible. We are working on a tool that can be used with our poly carriers to get as near perfect alignment as possible. Severe misalignment (more than 10%) can cause vibrations.

My first step is to remove the trans mount insert that raises the trans 3/8" taller than stock. That should put my alignment back to being close to stock.

I am trying out the harder center bearing but I'm confident that what I am dealing with is an alignment issue from incorrectly designed aftermarket mount band aids.

I'm interested in testing. I'm assuming 50a is still plenty more rigid than the stock rubber ?

I'd also be very interested in testing the product for you. I'd be happy to provide a plethora of pictures, details regarding the product.

2007V has a used driveshaft for sale for only $150 shipped - might make a good "core" for someone to swap out with minimal down time.

if you had let me know about it before I had you replace the center bearing I would have been a tester.... Qudos on the work though

I still have some vibration but I believe that is due to the trans position via the trans mount insert. I guess I need to do the math and shim up the carrier. Anyone know what kind of angular tolerances will lead to vibration? ex. 5 deg difference in trans output vs front half of DS.

I am picking up a truck in the next couple weeks so I'll have a spare vehicle then, if you still need someone to test I should be available to do so.

Probably not as helpful as being able to help right now, but it's the best I got.

MALLET-- We didn't have our test units in hand when you sent your shaft in. Supposedly youre able to have up to 10degrees misalignment without vibration...but that's quite a bit.

Ideally a spare driveshaft would be the ticket for being a tester. That way you don't have to have your car down, and if there are any problems you still can swap back in the stock shaft.

Just started getting bad vibes at 45 mph and up. Went under and saw my carrier bearing completely shot. I'd like to be a tester if you still need.

My bearing is bad, but so are most of my mounts, I'd be a tester but I don think I'd give good results but if your in kind of a pinch I can afford to have my car down

Can't u balance the driveshaft...I don't know a thing about a 2pc. So whats the sense of getting any work done if it is gonig to have sever vibration..

Greg.... Where have I said that the driveshaft will have severe vibration after we work on it? If your driveshaft currently has severe vibration, get it balanced. We don't offer balancing services. If your shaft is free of balancing vibrations, prior to sending to us then it will be free of balancing vibrations when you get it back. If its off balance when you send to us then its gonna come back in the exact same condition.

Ideal test cars would need to have good condition mounts, or new mounts on the engine and transmission so that logged data is attributed to the carrier bearing and not bad mounts.

Quick Reply: Replace that driveshaft bearing!!!
