I agree this is probably bigger than the 8.8 rear... Depending on the price point everyone will benefit from this. Not everyone drives their car hard enough to necessitate an 8.8 rear. But everyone can benefit from more wheel choices. I can't wait to hopefully scoop this stuff up. Its been on my list.

why not offer the kit a la carte? The hubs are easily purchased through almost any parts store, online, or rock auto.... The brake rotors are apparently no issue either...if you just grab any C6 rotor, right? So the only thing new you'll actually be offering is the parking brake addition?
I mean, for some, sure it'll save a little effort.....but will it be cost effective?
other thoughts:
1. what rotors will you provide? cheap blanks? brembo blanks? slotted/drilled?
2. will pads be included to go with the new rotors? if so...what pads?
3. stainless brake lines are always an option some people feel they need...will these be included?
4. if the parking brake parts are OE...are you going to list what they are?
not being cynical, just thinking outloud

it's a good thing i wasn't in a hurry to get a set of wheels for this year. i'll let this play out and see where it goes. we may be seeing a whole slew of 5 lug V1's next year, hah!

Timken or SKF. I never have hub issues but that's usually because I pay for the better quality hubs. I'd for sure be down as long as this kit doesn't cost thousands. Have to remember the customer is going to need a new set of wheels and possibly tires for this to work.

I would recommend either Timkin or SKF. I have had those Chinese bearings fail on me and when they did they destroyed my rotor and caliper too from all the play.

One of the most exciting aspects of this is that it could actually improve our e-brake. If CS is using a modified e-brake shoe like was done in this thread, it would give our e-brake shoe more contact area which should equal more grip....

Very Interesting.....
My only concern that would need to be addressed is will this kit offer some kind of solution that will let us run " so-called 5lug" wheels without having any spacers to maintain a close-to-stock offset / outer wheel face location?
A 5-lug swap would make upgrading the brakes to V2 components much easier.

Let's not get hasty... You don't want to wait for pricing?
I would want to see if they can get it to under $1k. Its worth it to me to not have to do the legwork finding x or y part that will fit. But if its much over that, I think I may have to just peruse the local pick a part for vette, GTO, FBody, etc pieces.

Having installed wheel bearings on regular passenger cars before and using cheap ones.....only to later replace them with timkins because the others failed is why I would rather do it once. The extra money is well spent to not have to do that labor twice and pay twice.
I can only imagine people who drive these cars pretty hard can kill a cheap part faster then a well built one.

I don't mess with cheap hubs. They may be easy to replace, but is not a part that you should be replacing often unless you road race it weekly. Corvette track guys go through hubs often enough with the good stuff.
As a vendor, I would offer the kit with Timken or equivalent hubs and without. You really don't want to be supplying Duralast quality hubs which are known to have terrible quality.
