Correct. Although the KW Variant 3 is twice as expensive, it represents more than twice the value.
The bottom line is that if your car isn't comfortable and fun to drive, you'll sell it. If you like this platform, make the investment in a good set of coilovers. The KW Variant 3 is sold by the North American branch of KW as the Belltech 21060. If you look on eBay, I believe the vendors there will take about $1750, but you might want to socialize that with other people on the forum to figure out what their bottom line is.

Unfortunately I want a lowered stance. I've read the height adjustability with the KWs is minimal, and if you do drop them down, they blow rather quickly. For a car that gets driven a couple times a month, I want it to sit right, look good and ultimately if there is a minor sacrifice in ride quality, I'm ok with that. I just need to get my hands on something within the next week or so as I don't feel like installing the 8.8 rear end, and not having the coilovers at the same time to install and get my alignment right…etc

i'd venture to say if you actually took the time to pull apart the ksports and get them revalved by a local shop that does suspension work and swapped out the springs for some swift replacements that they'd be pretty capable units.
having someone to go through that effort and essentially double the cost of the coilovers, though...not many people would do that.

Ebay? A quick search found a bunch of vendors selling them. They're all listed at the same price, although some of them have the "Best Offer" option, too. Not all of them say they actually have them in stock, but a couple of the listings I looked at said "2 available" and "more than 10 available".

After this experience with trying to purchase the K-Sports from a company (THMotorsports) that had them listed as "in stock" I became suspicious of any company that says so, especially for parts for our cars.
I have contacted several of the companies that have "in stock" listed for both k-sport and D2, and they have told me they are not in fact in stock.
That makes it extremely difficult to get parts in a timely fashion, because there is no telling when they will ship and from where.

that's because most items like this are drop shipped straight from the company or the main carrier in the country. most companies don't "stock" parts anymore...

For my own understanding then. "In Stock" does not mean In Stock in this day and age?
Where I come from, if you say you have something In Stock, that means you can go to it and physically place your hands on it, touch it, feel it, lick it...etc.
Is that not what it means?
