False. Mine is plastidipped flat black and it's smooth like a real paintjob, and hasn't peeled or anything. I've had it on for almost a year now.

OP, that looks so sick! But I don't know if it'll look good on a V. It's hard to pick a good color on these cars. You can paint all the euro and jap cars whatever color and it'll look good. But colors like orange, yellow, green on our cars looks horrible. But.... it's plastidip, so u can always peel it off. If you do decide to paint it that color, post pics!!!

I did it myself. I posted a small write up on the other forum, I'll see if I can find the link.

http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/2004-2007-cadillac-cts-v-appearance/304505-alittle-modification-our-front-bumper.html

I'm redoing it though, using a V2 lower grille. Still needs a lot of bodywork but the fiberglass is done.

it does look a lot meaner like that versus how stock goes all the way across. kudos on that part.

I kind of think that iron man paint job looks pretty good. Bumper on the ctsv looks awesome too.

Achieving the iridescent colors with plastidip is pretty impressive. I'm not a fan of the black dip though.

It's not something I would ever do to my own car, and I wouldn't do it to an S8, but I think that color combination looks pretty cool. I didn't realize you could do the color shifting stuff with plastidip.

Edit: Oh, and when I read the title of this thread, I was afraid I was going to open it and find the snout of the car wrapped to look like Iron Man's face, and I was ready to be appalled. So maybe I like the S8 because my expectations were so low.
