Exclamation Sad News (Big Bu Bu / crankedupforit)

First off let me just say I really feel bad for not following up with this sooner...

For the last few years I have gotten pretty close with member "Big Bu Bu" aka "crankedupforit" aka Mike.

Now I've never really met him in person but we have been in plenty of contact either on the forums, via email, maybe a call or two.

During the spring I usually am very busy with work so it is normal for me to lose contact with people and vise versa. Everyone now-a-days has a pretty hectic life so I just consider it normal.

It's been quite some time since I saw any of his posts around and even though I didn't see any there is usually a "like" notification or something for one of my track pictures I post so I usually don't pay any mind.

For the past few weeks I haven't been racing and had some free time. I know it sounded stalkerish but I checked his last activity (4/29/14). I did find it odd but you know sometimes other things happen that take more importance than posting in an online forum. I kind of brushed it off.

Needless to say tonight I was browsing eBay only to find Mike's V listed for sale. (I know the car, I know the setup (the cage was modeled after mine), I know the parts, etc.)

Suddenly I had a bad feeling and started putting the pieces together.

Knowing I had shipped some parts to Mike in the past, I dug through messages to find the address.

After a quick google search I basically found what I didn't want to - Our friend Mike has passed away on May 10,2014...

I am really sorry to hear this.

Rest In Peace Buddy...

RIP, Mike. Hope your Cadzilla goes to a good home and someone treats it the way you built it to be treated!

OK, managed to speak with the builder/mechanic on his car.

Basically Mike had put up the good fight against cancer for some time but it would ultimately be too much for him.

The car is now being sold to help provide for his wife. I have sent our condolences on behalf of all of us.

I would ask anyone if they could pass along the info if they know someone looking for a nice clean car...

RIP Mike

IIRC, he had some work done at Katech a while back. Half jokingly, I chastised him for not stopping by my place on his way back home. Good banter back and forth.

So sad.

Correct.
Heads/Cam done by Katech with extras including intake and rails. Pushing 463 at the wheels according to the builder.
He's got a host of UUC mounts and their 2 piece rotors. He had Alston Racing do the roll bar. He mounted Sparco seats and harness.
TD Wheels on Grand Am Conti's. More recently added an APR splitter and had the Lumina vents installed in the hood.
According to Yooper the car pulled like a freight train on the straights...

From his signature: CTS V Redline 05 . MOTOR-- Katech LS6 stage II heads and cam, FAST102 with NW102TB, Kooks 1 3/4, free flow cats, Corsa, Lingenfelter CAI with Stealth intake tube, UUC shifter, UUC motor mounts, UUC trans mount, UUC diff mount, Exedy twin GT04SD clutch. Mocal oil cooler BRAKES/SUSPENSION-- UUC 2 piece rotors, Hotchkiss sways, KW V 3 coilovers, MAP trailing arms, Spectre cradle bushings, BMR toe rods, Sparco seats / Schroth harnesses, Corner weighed, Team Dynamics 275/35/18 Hoosier GACs

Rip so sad. He obviously loved his V. Probably doesn't mean much now, but hopefully it goes to someone with as much passion, I would want mine to.
