Default Installed My MM rear shock spacers with a TWIST

Very high quality kit!I got about 3/4" drop without cutting my Eibachs.Might cut half a coil.
I wanted to keep my dust covers so I riveted them to the bottom plate.Simple solution.

You remove the metal top.I was going to drill it but it pops off very easily.

I'm confused. Simple solution to what? When I removed the stock suspension to install the KW coilovers the rear dust shields were separate from the top mounts, like so:

Is that not how they're supposed to be?

The hole in the top of the dust cover's metal cap is to small to fit over the larger diameter of the shock shaft when the MM spacers are used.If you remove the metal cap, then there is nothing supporting the cover so it will falls to the bottom and stays there providing no protection.I drilled four 1/8" holes in the bottom MM plate to affix the cover to and keep it in place.
The dust cover has a larger hole under the metal cap allowing it to clear the shaft.

This is just for people reusing their stock shocks. It gives the option to use the protective cover over the shaft when installing the MM spacer kit.
The kit originally requires you to discard the cover.

Why didn't I think of this! I sat there for a good minute during the install of my kit pondering how I could keep the dust shields. Looks like I'll be pulling the socks!

You should suggest that to them as an improvement. Did you use pop rivets?
