So who all is running g force axles. I think this is going to be my next big project I tackle before I just say screw it and get an 8.8 diff.

If you are Planning to get the 8.8 forget these axles. They are a band-aid

I have them in my car right now. They helped quite a bit. Combined with cradle bushings they just about take care of 90% of the wheel hop.

That being said my diff lash was getting out of hand so I'm now in the process of doing an 8.8 swap. I'll be putting up a for sale add shortly for my axles

I have DSS axles and rear cradle bushings. Very happy with the results vs money spent.

Exactly...car has axles rear suffrage bushings diff bushing and block and I have basically zero hop...if it's wet or slick it might....the only thing that makes me want more is the diff lash..

Just put the money towards an 8.8. Seen this conversation happen for 5 + years now. if you buy the axles, you will eventually need the diff as it is inevitable a whine, lash issue or other carnage is 90% likely to ensue with any moderate hot rodding. If you are 80 yrs old and go to the gorcery store, then do nothing, however i am willing to bet that contemplating axles means tyou use the car a little bit. If I had to do it all over, I would have called max, gotten the kit, diff cover brackets axles with outer stubs upgraded, and a 1 piece DDD driveshaft andput my own 8.8 together. It is the best solution. No leakage issues, fitment or vibration issues if the driveshaft is good.

I lost almost 2 years of driving time with my car for starting out with just axles. hopefully you can avoid that. I did have a DD so that helped, but if you dont then dont play with it. do it right the first time.

^ The GForces were a waste of money for me. Within a month of having them installed, snapped an outer CV.

The 8.8 is the best move for the money, IMO

I slightly agree. It depends how far the owner wants to go and or final goals. Yes if planned to keep adding power and keep the car then yes of.course they are a bandaid and the money should go to a 8.8

Side note to that is axles were not too expensive and they did their job without a doubt on my car. If and when I break my different that is a good excuse to go beefier. The wife will understand when I show her the mess it made. But if I told her I'm dropping 4k on the car and she doesn't see an issue with it then she may snarl back. 😂

The point is. The GeForce Axles definitely helped and so far have been great for me. For now

1. Negative Ghost rider.

2. Get the G-Force Axles and Cradle bushings.

3. Enjoy the car again.

4. Start saving for 8.8.

5. Get 8.8 inners for the G-Force axles.

6. Get one axle recut and now you are ready for the 8.8.

7. Buy brackets, and DS adapter.

8. Buy 8.8.

9. Buy 8.8 bushings.

10. Enjoy car again.

I was trying to be helpful, yet succinct at the same time.

If anyone needs me to expound, just let me know.

^^^ This is what I have. I notice no perceptible wheelhop.

BUT, I also don't make a habit of spinning the rears. If that's what you want to be able to do, worry-free, then I'd follow barrok69 or 54inches.

Agreed, I don't drive like an asshat and don't have money burnin a hole in my pocket to replace rear tires on an accelerated schedule. The only wheelhop I get is in the wet when the rear tires break loose and the RPM's get over 4K.

How do the g-force outers compare to the stock and DSS outers?

When you say cut, are we talking about cutting down the axle length?

Thanks

I have an issue at my power level and stock tire size that I run through tires.

I need wider wheels as Discount tire will not put wider tires on stock wheels now.

I believe all the outers come from the same source.

Yes, get a custom axles shaft or cut down and respline the stocker. I believe it is all covered in my DIY 8.8 thread.

I like the way 54inches thinks! Get the g-force axles for now. And then save for 8.8. The ctsv is not my dd. only gets drivin on really nice days or when it's decent and I miss driving it lol. But I think I'm going to to cradle bushings as well.
