Default what CAI for my 06 ctsv

so i have a friend selling a K&N intake NIB for $150 but i heard bad things about these intakes, people say the stock box with a regular K&N filter works best. what is the best CAI for our cars? ive googled and have had diffrent answers, let the fight begin

Make your own 4" elbow into the factory airbox. You don't even need a k&n in the box a paper will be fine.

you could also just cut down the K&N tubing and leave the stock air box. you'll still need a bump coupler for the air box side.

the stock tubing kinda sucks, though. i'd at least replace that section and end up with something like a lot of people, including me, have.

Don't waste your money on all the fancy-schmancy CAIs out there. Listen to the guys here and just get a smooth elbow.

I have the Lingenfelter, big rip off like the rest. I vote for the smooth elbow as well, stock air box.

Someone here on the forum has a post about a kit he puts together that includes an elbo, carbon tube, and clamps. I bought one, but haven't installed it yet because I need to install an LS2 pcv nipple and want to source something factory looking.

While agree that you don't need it, if you want something that looks better than the rest, it's hard to beat a Volant IMHO.

i dont think my volant looks like that. your has a more direct route to the blower.
