Default Fuel Harness Recall

So I have yet to take my 07' in for the recall. I hear the work to get to the harness is pretty invasive. Question I have is my fuel gauge drifts a lot and figured if they were already in the area I would have the replace or fix the float. It's only gotten worse over time and figured it would be cheaper while they are in there. Drifts up to 1/4 after it gets past the half full mark. I do most of my own work, but would rather not drop the fuel tank and all the fun that goes with it.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

My tank was leaking and it was not caused by the recall and they replaced the tank while it was out with no labor since they had to pull the tank anyway.

And you're not talking about how the fuel level plummets after the half way point, you're talking about a squirrelly needle floating around on you?

I had my float replaced by the dealership while the tank was out because it spontaneously **** the bed during the first removal. Perhaps the part number is on my invoice. I'll look when I get home.

Update: my invoice had no part number, just "Fuel main level sensor" replaced.

Rand my fuel level is always dropping quickly it's the dropping to 1/4 tank then jumping to 1/2 and dropping to 1/8 and then jumping to 1/4 or 1/2. I guess if the gas did not disappear so fast I could better predict the empty point. Is a bit squirrel like.
