Default 2004 CTS-V: 10.35 @ 138.60 mph. 1.55 60' Manual trans

Finally got my car together and decided to make some test hits on Friday.

First pass off the trailer I lifted at the 1/8th mile to keep from getting kicked out but I was certainly on a high 10.3 pass or low 10.4 pass. I was immediately kicking myself for not just sticking with it, but ultimately I was glad I didn't get the boot because the car started launching even better.

Best pass of the night turned out to be a 10.35 @ 138.60mph on a 1.55 60'. Trapped a best of 139.75 on a 10.4x pass.

Never happen. My goal is 10.5 with 18" drag radials one day. I don't want to get that in depth just to go in a straight line.

But man! 1.559 is forking moving out!!! Need to get a weight reading on this car asap!

Also, other than bushings what have you added since the last strip day?

Oh, you don't think stock wheels are boring regardless? If I get a raise this year...might go all the way through with my 5-lug swap and get some proper 19s on here. I have the hubs and rotors sitting in my garage.

No. I think there are enough wheel options as is. They may be boring, but the 1,500$ for the swap alone with out wheels is better spent else where

If you do what I did, it will cost you 680...but that's with C-Tek rotors and Precision Auto hubs. If you have more expensive taste, then you will hit a grand, easy.

15" wheels and skinnies, fixed my blown head gaskets and broken valvesprings/lifter.

Car weighs 4080lbs w/ me in it. 3880 without. Whole car is 100% in tact minus the factory fuel tank which was replaced with a cell. Plus the weight of the blower, brackets, pullies, and 5-gal icebox...etc

4k lbs and 140 trap - car is making good power, that is for sure.

1.55 60' and 4k lbs - that poor clutch.

Nice runs!

Thanks guys.

The car will always remain M6, I have no intention of ever changing that!

I'll get some fuel cell pics at some point. Hosting photos to then post on forums is a extremely annoying, someone ought to do something about that hahaha.

I broke the stock 120k mile trans that had a few upgrades in it and have since upgraded to a Tranzilla T56 built by Rockland Standard Gear in NY. So far it as been amazing. The rest of the drivetrain consists of DSS carbon driveshaft, CS 8.8 rear end and DSS axles. Using a McLeod RXT clutch and it's been holding up great! Hopefully between more seat time, a little tweaking of the tune and the cooler air thats coming I can find some more ET and trap!

You don't have to host photos anymore. Been that way for a while. I found posting photos on the phone is easiest. I post all my for sale threads from the phone, on the full site in browser. They upload straight from the phone.
