Default Thouhgts on this GTO vs CTS-V1

Im just curious what you guys think about this....

2004 CTS-V stock engine with long tube headers, cat delete, exhaust cutouts, LS7 clutch & flywheel assembly, ported throttle body, and a Wait4me Performance tune (for whatever that is worth).....

Against

2004 LS1 GTO. Stock engine with long tube headers, straight pipe exhaust, handheld tuner---tune. Claiming approx. 300rwhp.

4-6 (3 of which I was driving) races and almost everytime, the gto stomps the cadillac. It was my old V and I assumed the new owner wasnt shifting right or something so he let me drive it against the gto. From a dig, the gto edged out on me a hair and we held about even until 80mph and i started slowly walking him. We did two rolls... one I got the jump and barely stayed ahead. the next he got the jump and left me in the dust like I was standing still. (I can drive the hell out of that car and shift like a pro...so it wasnt driver error...)

The kicker:

He has a 100shot nitrous kit in the trunk with the line ran to the intake, but claims that no eletricals are hooked up........so he isnt spraying.

Thoughts on this??

Lets put it this way both cars wiegh relatively the same. Except the cts-v makes more power from the mods and it being ls6 vs ls1. So driver variable out of the equation he shouldnt be able to walk you or pull on you.

Does he have a stock rear end ratio? That would make a difference.

Default Thouhgts on this GTO vs CTS-V1

Both are old, both tired, but the gto has a solid rearend where the v is questionable...

The goat has more upgrades available and is easy to alter, otrcai, headers, catback, etc...

The v had its day and the only things available are few and far between...

Naf.... How does that have anything to do with the two cars and the races they competed in?... Or there current mods. Lol.

I'm not looking to buy these cars and asking for a comparison lol...I've already owned the one... I just wanted peoples thoughts on the races Nd outcome because it feels like a sham.

NAF....How do you figure the GTO, while making considerably less hp, should be the clear winner without spraying?

For one he has a bullet proof rear end, and possibly he is lyin about his hp output...

Its easy to slip in a cam and ported heads and not even tell

Its post like this that make me think Naf is bi-polar a cam and heads ls1 is typically equal or slightly better than stock ls6. 243>241 heads. Ls6 intake manifold is better than ls1 intake manifold. For them to be at the same power level the gto would have to have heads cam and intake manifold. Sometimes i dont get how naf can have great insite on certain posts and other times he just blowing smoke.

Default Thouhgts on this GTO vs CTS-V1

Read the thread starter one more time, slowly out loud...

Lets go apples to apples. Ls1 puts out less power than a ls6. 345/350 vs 400/400. Weight of the vehicles are pretty much the same.

The gto is an equal match to the v which is tellin me he, the gto, has an ace up his sleeve.

Stock motor could have ported 241 heads which will out flow stock 243, milled from 68cc to 65 cc givin the same compression as ls6, and a ls7 or other small cam that idles but larger than ls6 cam. Spray is another unknown factor... The stock intake again can be ported and out flow the ls6. Unless you saw the car every day and know exactly what was done you have a few variables your not takin into account.

You should be stomping the crap out of him on paper, but its the other way.

I dont smoke crack, but the heat here has taught me to think hard about the evidence given and consider all options...

I have a bad *** car and that sleeper is kickin my *** what does he have, what could he be hiding ? He is lying to me, hell i would lie if i was winning...

I use to tear mustangs a new hole with my old 92 blazer, i listen to the way it drove, and if it had an auto i took them out, manuals i steered clear of for they were lighter and a bit faster. But fat lazy arabs drivin an auto are easy targets...didnt care what they did to their cars, my "stock" blazer took them out...had a 3.91 ratio, catback exhaust and kn filter, from the dealer and that really helped my old girl get to speed a lot faster, but i tapped out on the top speed, but they never figured that out for it was over before they knew it...

WAIT!!!

He could be using one of those 2-5psi fan compressors...with kn like filter...

That would explain the spankin...

Or back to A, crappie tune....

Your mail in tune isnt perfect for your car or setup. Its a generic tune where he activates the maf sooner and reduces the iat timing retard and trims the pe slightly. No logs no dyno no true power. He could have tuned it so bad you are losing power during wot due to knock and thats why he is stomping ya...

In my 2010 tahoe 5.3 stock stock engine w/ headers cai and denali catback, i bumped up the wot timing from 7 to 18, cleaned up my pe, left my iat retard alone, fixed my vvt timing properly, deleted the vvt timing table and i have too much fun making them imports sweat when i zoom past them when its 120f and my iat reads 60 due to my meth injection...
