Default Will 225/60-18 fit a 2005 V?

Has anyone ever tried mounting a 225/60-18 tire on a stock V1? I had a set of firestone winterforce snows for my last car and they were f***ing amazing in the snow, but the only 18" winterforce they make is a 225/60-18. Its a little narrow for the stock rim but I think it should work. The part I`m worried about is the height, its 1.9" taller than the 245/45-18. Being that it is narrower I`m thinking there might be clearance even at full lock? But I`m wondering if someone else has tried this already.

Yeah I know blizzak LM-32`s are available in 245/45-18 but the tread pattern does not look nearly as aggressive and they are over double the price. I know the blizzaks are probably better on ice, but I`m more worried about snow.

i run 225/50R18 winters on mine. i would think that extra height is going to be a bad thing when it comes to rubbing, but i'm also lowered pretty aggressively.

That size will absolutely not work on even a stock height V. I'm guessing you had a Chrystler 300, charger, etc before with that size tire.

Those will not work, and there's no reason why the Blizzaks will suck in the snow. If anything, the Blizzaks are some of the best and most popular dedicated snow tires around.

I have Yokohama Ice Grip tires and they have a comparable tread to the winterforce tread. And like the winterforce and unlike the Blizzaks they aren't marshmallows on dry pavement.

My last daily driver was my 1985 El Camino, but I have driven multiple cars with winterforce and they were all great. That was part of the reason I wanted to stay with a winterforce if it would have fit. I`m not knocking the blizzak as I know everyone seems to love them, I just haven`t ever driven on them.

Yeah the winterforce are a bit mushy on dry roads, but I can live with that. Thanks for the replies.

for reference i'm running general artimax arctic and they were pretty legit. i'll have to put the rear ones up front for this winter since the rears wore down a bunch more, but overall i had a great experience with them.

when it gets warm out they are kinda mushy, but it's not awful.

Actually I was saying the Yokohama and the winterforce are not as mushy as the Blizzaks.

Anything more than about a 27.2" tire and you're going to get rubbing up front. My 27" 255/45 tires gently run the wheel well at full turn. The tires you have are 28.6". Blizzaks are great, much better than the Hankook snows I've had last 2 winters. Hankooks are better in dry roads but that doesn't help me get to work when it's snow covered roads lol...

On stock ride height I would expect they would work, narrower and less than an inch higher in the wheel well. I would cut the wheel side to side and run my hands around and feel for spacing, keeping in mind they would not be as wide.

After reading the posts here I rechecked the clearance with the 245/45-18`s and I don`t think the 225/60-18s would clear the inner fender on turns. In the end I picked up a set of 245/45-18 dunlop sp wintersport tires off craigslist. I figured before I bought a new set I would check craigslist for snows and it turns out there was a guy selling a set 10 minutes away with only 12k miles on them.
