Default Oil pressure sender relocate kit

I pop these sensors like phucking corn!
This has to be the 6th or 7th and I was getting so good at it I could almost replace them by feel.
However, I decided that even though they are about $15 bucks a throw, the hassle was a PITA so I decided to relocate the sensor.
I bought the DAVIES C5 relocate kit #999060.
For $200.00 you can buy a lot of sensors, but if you have scraped your knuckles or removed the wiper facia, intake (or maggie) to get at the little bastard, $200.00 is cheap.
The only drawback is the sensor that DAVIES supplies with the relocate kit is not an OEM CTS-V replacement (it has different threads) so when you blow out that sensor you can't use the stock unit, so don't order it for a replacement.
IMO it was worth doing.

I just took one of these off a car I bought recently and was thinking what a waste of money it was.

Wonder why you keep blowing these? Have you been using the Standard PS308T?

I have used all the replacements that would fit, including the longer version.

The aluminum body pressure sensor is a well known POS.

As for the brass body ones, they last a little bit longer.

It isn't just me either popping these either.

If you really want to shorten the life of the sensor, rev the motor a bit when the oil is cold.

Here are pics of the routing and mounting.

Now the sensor is against the firewall.

I wrapped the stainless oil line and the fuel rail with nylon spiral wrap.

Maybe I should keep this then. Put over 50k on the Standard sensor but I'm not pushing my car hard that hard either.

On a stock intake V I was able to swap mine out in 5 minutes. The stock unit failed after 120k miles. Atleast I think it was the original. The brass body napa unit I put in which was actually a bdw part lasted a week ...... I bought another one at advance auto which was labeled as bdw... Still going 10k later.
