'04-05 steering wheel, no audio controls:
- Outer left rocker is up/down through the DIC options
- Inner left rocker is up to cycle thru the digital speedo/odometer options, down for traction control
- Inner right is up to set cruise, down to turn cruise on/off
- Outer right is cruise up/down, resume
I imagine at some point I've seen an '06/07 wheel, but I didn't pay attention to the buttons. What from the above list is not on the '06/07 wheel in order to have the audio controls?

Oh weird. It looks like since I've actually purchased everything, it says 0 things left on the wish list.
Metra Electronics 40-VW10 Factory Antenna to Aftermarket Radio Adapter for Select 1988-Up Audi/BMW/Mercedes/SMART Vehicles
http://a.co/50hBTgS
This will connect to the stock antenna and will fit on your aftermarket radio.
Metra 70-1784 Radio Wiring Harness for Audi 88-99/Volkswagen 80-Up
http://a.co/bZW5lBp
Pair this with the male version (reverse harness). You'll need to move one of the pins in order to get the ground side of the steering wheel controls (Pin 2 on C3)
Metra 71-1784 Reverse Wiring Harness for Select 1980-2005 Volkswagen Vehicles OEM Radio

Yomikoo Auxiliary Audio MP3 Changer Adapter Cable Connector Fit for VV Audi 8Pin Mini ISO

Use this to intercept anything on the C1 connector. It basically is an extension cord for the C1 connector. Steering wheel control supply voltage is on Pin 13.

Took a video of my HU this morning.
It's actually pretty slick for the price I paid (< $200 on Black Friday)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bckywrixOY
Here's a list of all the wiring harnesses that I needed to get steering wheel controls to work. (See Post #33)

It will do screen mirroring on my phone as well.

What model and size is your head unit
Dear sir
I'm a owner of 07 cts 68000 miles and I came across your video because I'm want to change my factory head unit. So my question is what model unit is yours and what size unit did you purchase.

I have some questions, hopefully OP will see it and answer.
You wrote:
1) Where are you picking up constant + and switched + from?
2) you use low level RCA outs into the amp L and R, yes? And it's only the fronts, because the amp in the trunk does all the speaker distribution?
3) on C3, do you use the high level L and R for anything?
Are you leaving C3 alone and basically using C1 and C2?
