I found the part number listed on multiple threads, however the badge I ordered is different, but the part number is correct.. so I won't share in case I f*ck it up for you or anyone else. Pictures to follow below.

_____

Caught up on some general maintenance yesterday.

ThatKevinC's '04 CTS-V Progress Log-otuxyy9.jpg

Amsoil Torque Drive Synthetic ATF
Amsoil Severe Gear 75w140 diff fluid
Amsoil Sliplock LSD Additive
Mobil1 5w30 Synthetic Oil
Mobil M1-206 Filter

ThatKevinC's '04 CTS-V Progress Log-j2nhtza.jpg

The previous owner had the trans fluid changed roughly 2-3 years ago with Mobil1 Synthetic ATF, I have the invoice somewhere.. But I wanted to change it for peace of mind. Whoever had done it previously had overfilled the trans somehow by easily half a litre/quart.

After reading many many threads online, the general consensus was to go with Amsoil. I don't know what other people feel, but for me, there is absolutely no difference in feel between it and the Mobil1 syn ATF.
_____

My rotors were looking pretty rough, so figured I would replace. My friend who ordered them, somehow misunderstood me and only ordered the rears. We'll get the fronts this week probably. I went with Bremsen coated rotors. Took the chance clean up the pads and calipers, and relube.

This is my new grille badge. It is smaller than my current badge. Not sure what happened there, maybe the wrong badge was in the wrong box. However, I made it work. It still fit on the grille and the two alignment tabs were snipped off. I used an adhesion promoter and the supplied double sided tape. I don't think it will ever come off.

Haven't done much but drive the car lately. Patiently waiting to put in the cam. I've been debating on keeping the cutouts or just selling them. The Billy Boat exhaust is just too quiet for my liking. Ended up putting the cutouts in this weekend and don't mind them open. The car is obnoxiously loud when open, which is fun. But, they hang really low (roughly 1.25" lower than the lowest point of the exhaust), and I think it will be a problem down the road when I lower the car. I've been thinking about maybe losing the cutouts and just taking out the resonators on the BB exhaust.

(friend helping to hack up my exhaust)

Can't forget the most important mod.. new license plate cover to replace the pitted, yellow, old one.

Random picture of the V and old man daily.

ThatKevinC's '04 CTS-V Progress Log-wh9uqgv.jpg

Ended up buying the vinyl badge kit off of 8thdaycreations. It took a month to get to me, and that was with a paypal claim to help speed up the process. The yellow is really tacky IMO and I wish I had ordered the gray/silver/black kit instead.

All 3 badges looked like this
ThatKevinC's '04 CTS-V Progress Log-ulqwq8t.jpg

Far from perfect, but I'll live with it for now.

ThatKevinC's '04 CTS-V Progress Log-gocppld.jpg

Drove roughly 1300km round trip this past weekend for an event. As much as I hate how stock this car is, it's pleasant to drive for long periods of time.

'67 Mustang coupe, custom frame, over a C5 drivetrain (LS1, T56, cradle, steering, knuckles, rear end, etc). Lots more of course, his IG is @mustangkyle. It's a trash build.

*would rather not discuss it in this thread*

Meh, loved them on my last car. Don't care for them on the V. I probably should have placed them before the mufflers, instead of after the headers. I will at one point take them out. Otherwise, I am patiently waiting to throw in the cam and see what goes after that.

Finally got around do doing my headlights.. well at least one of them. The "after" picture isn't great since it was dark out, but they came out way better than they were.

Which sealant did you utilize ? I would consider a clear coat with a UV blocker to maintain that hard work you put into it.

I used Chemical Guys "Extreme Top Coat Sealant" but I just picked up some Jet Seal and Pete's 53 wax from CG and will be polishing the car soon. So I'll throw those over the headlights as well. I won't bother with clearing them.

More sh*t that doesn't make the car any faster.

New cabin filter, much needed.

Yes, I clean them weekly with a wheel cleaner from Chemical Guys, and once every month or so apply a coat of their wheel wax as well.
