New to me, 2007 CTS-V owner here...time to mod!

so, I ve been waiting for a couple weeks to post thes pics. Was hoping my sway bar kit and misc other parts would have arrived by now, but that's not lookn like its gunna happen...EVER! Thanx MS!
Meanwhile I picked up this FAST 92mm intake along with a CS 8.8" swap. We are gunna take a shot at gettn this thing done on next weekend. As for the motor parts, I ll just keep on stock piling til its time. You ll notice I polished up and repainted the fast 92mm, I'm no arts n crafts expert, but it ll do.

Is the CS 8.8 swap the end all of weakness and wheel hop? Does it pay to use other parts in conjunction? BMR AWK? What else would you guys recommend?
Im still gunna buy hotchkis sway bars next too
P.s. just a reminder,...450whp h/c/i car eventually on street tires forever! No race tracks in my future with this car

The 8.8 doesn't entirely eliminate wheel hop because it's still an IRS setup, but I haven't heard of anyone breaking one yet. If you have an updated stock differential and just plan on spirited street driving, you can probably skip the several thousand dollars that the 8.8 requires. The diff doesn't break because of power as much as it does from abuse such as wheel hop and not lifting between 1st-2nd shifts which can easily be done at stock levels. Your axle CV joints are more likely to twist due to power, though. Consider them the fuse.

In the world of car modding, its all about supporting mods. Im not gunna bank on the what could happen, but more of what will happen. I scored a really good deal on the 8.8" swap. Which will get even better when i recoupe some of the $ back for selling my stock low mileage 07' diff. It appears i already even have a buyer local to me. It will defly be a moderate build with spirited street driving. But, for the out the door price im prolly gunna be at, im pretty sure its a wise investment. Even when still intact, that failing diff whine is annoying. I heard it in another car couple years ago. I now can identify it bcuz of what i ve recently learned. My V is quiet now. I can live with some wheel hop, i remember running with some Cobra guys who had same issues inherent to the IRS setup. Only real solution was a SRA swap for them at high hp. Im wondering if buyn anything additional to the CS 8.8 is a good idea. Some of the BMR components looked promising by itself. I wanna be able to drive it like i stole it...especially once it gets h/c/i...

If you got a good deal on an 8.8 setup and can recoup with selling your good parts then that sounds like a plan. The peace of mind will be nice to have. One thing regarding gear whine may be temperature related, however. I heat wrapped my exhaust pipes around the differential and the whine was significantly reduced.
As far as complimentary mods, I would say the rear subframe bushings, trailing arm bushings (or full arms), and toe rods are well worth it. I went with Creative Steel over BMR for those bits though. BMR was the first to market, but CS made some nice improvements.
The CS cradle bushings are full replacement bushings rather than supplemental inserts. The toe rods put the adjustment in the center as opposed to both ends which are more difficult to get to and the grease fittings are also convenient. Some people had wheel fitment issues with the BMR trailing arms due to their thicker tube diameter. I have 9.5" rear wheels and clearance to the stock arms was very tight. I just went with the bushing replacements for those.
I didn't replace the toe rods at first because they were back ordered and with the stiffer surrounding parts the rear became squirly. It was fixed when I finally got the toe rods. The stock pieces are surprisingly thin and of course have spongy rubber bushings.

You literally found my dream car. Low mileage 07. I've been looking for a month for something exactly like that.
When I had my previous 07 when I did Kooks, I rerouted the alternator wire to go along the block to avoid the wire being melted by the headers and shorting it out. Might want to check that out as well.
I also did high flow cats and replaced the existing magnaflow due to drone with a Corsa sport. Also I did CS engine mounts because they were leaking.
Trying to find another low mileage V though. One day I'll find it.

Creative steel 8.8" is in! Awesome, overall it was a smooth install. I will not cry about the extra clearancing of the exhaust. Simply bcuz, well cmon, its a ford rear end in a Cadillac. Install is pretty straight forward otherwise. But it rips n feels fine. Car seems kinda snappy bangn gears, but I'm guessing that's the 4:10 gears. Its hardly noticeable otherwise. I ripped a killer 1st gear burnout n wheel hop was not evident like it had been previously when I first got it. FWIW. Heres a couple pics anyways

Yea, i ve been lookn at some 408 stroker N/A set ups. I just dont know what imterchanges exactly n what does not. Im trying to just swap in a built long block n have all my factory stuff change right over. Than i could simply sell my factory ls2 with super low miles!
