I'm back
Sort of...
Finishing up some **** with my car. Been down for 2 years. Had to take a machinist to court, had a 2nd kid, and almost got divorced... But it's nearing the end. Its at a shop here getting the last few items polished up. The motor was run in on the dyno, it then put down some good numbers. Its by no means a maximum effort motor. I actually bought and installed a smaller cam than I originally intended. Mod list after dyno pics...
First dyno runs... 91 octane TR5 plugs
Finishing out 91 octane with TR6 plugs.
The numbers don't lie. Its pretty darn healthy, motor will be tuned on E85 when it's all said and done. Those numbers are at the crank with NO accessories. I figure on E85 might pick up a couple more HP/TQ, nothing major as static compression is about 10.7:1 (approximate) calculated based on gasket thickness and pistons. Figure around 550whp maybe? I dunno, final 91 octane run was 652hp and 595trq, after they swapped to Tr6 plugs. My goal was totally blown away, I would have been ecstatic with 575-600 crank horsepower.
Recent build:
L76 block out of a G8 GT
Ported 0821 heads
102 NW throttle body
102 FAST
1000cc FICs
BTR cam 239/254 .624"/.595" 114+3
BTR .660 springs
Johnson linkbar lifters
LS3 rockers with trunnion upgrades
DSS racing forged assembly 4.00 stroke x 4.030 bore cut pistons
ARP fasteners throughout
JP billet timing set
LS3 valley cover (needed for DOD delete)
LS2 GTO timing cover (needed for DOD delete and to run with gen3 motor)
L92 oil pump (high flow standard pressure)
CS billet motor mounts
CS 8.8 diff 3.73 gear set
Driveshaft shop 2 piece shaft
Upgraded axles and CVs
DW300 single pump for now
-8 feed/-6 return all e85 compatible
Fuelab filer
Fuelab regulator
LS3 card style maf
That's mostly the long and the short of it
Stuff I previously installed:
Tilton Master Cylinder
LS9 clutch
Katech flywheel
Remote slave bleeder
Stainless brake lines
Stoptech slotted rotors
Stoptech para-aramid pads for daily driving
CS trans mount
CS 95 rear subframe bushings
Hurst shifter
Shifter bushings
Stainless works 1&3/4 headers and 3 inch exhaust, catted
Next on the list:
Paragon aero stuff like front splitter and the new rear Gurney Flap/Wicker bill
Suspension, probably KW V3
5 lug swap possibly
I think that about covers it. Discuss if you want. The build was tailored around the vision of a road course car. Southern California has the "Roval" at Fontana which runs on banked NASCAR track, willow springs (big willow), buttonwillow, chuckwalla, and up north Laguna Seca... All of which are benefited by having a car with a bunch of power. We also have a bunch of EPIC canyon roads here, and having a bunch of power is fun there too. I also figure to run 1/2 mile and 1 mile events here.
This was a labor of total frustration for a year while I fought to get my motor back from a machinist, had to have main caps recut, finally got all the **** together and it's so close I can taste it.
I'll post videos and whatnot when I pick it up.
Ryan, out

Yea it's a stroker it's a 408 (4.00x4.030). I didn't want to deal with extra heat dissipation on the track from going forced induction. It gets pretty hot here. Pretty standard to get track days over 100°. Also one of the reasons I'm running E85. Also running E85 because it's about 80 cents per gallon cheaper than 91 octane here in California.
Also forgot to mention, used Johnson linkbar lifters and BTR .660 springs and stainless works exhaust.
Updated the original post with some stuff
I wish I could have gone 416. I was a little scared that the liners wouldn't like being punched out that far. The L76 is a 6.0 so it's basically a LS2 with 0821 heads from the factory,, it's got displacement on demand. Obviously the DOD is gone now though.

Yea for sure dude. I have to rehab the bank account a smidge, then I'll be doing something with suspension and tires.

Yea... The detailed build stuff is easier to find in forums. I don't care either way though. Talked to buddy, he said the Caddy is scheduled to be finished next week. Ugh, nearly 2 years down and this is the hardest part. Waiting for a few parts and tuning.

While we wait for your car to be finished, tell us more about this wickerbill. All I see on their site is a drag spoiler. Google didn't turn up much and their fb doesn't mention it.
are there details out there someplace?

They are still developing it. It will be a 3 inch aluminum bill attached to your trunk lid via rivets or bolts. I talked to them about it a while back and posted in some FB groups about it. There seemed to be some decent interest so they are going forward with it. I'm not sure how much I can or can't say about it... Not sure how much I actually know lol. But think... C7 Z06 rear spoiler but same height the whole way across, you'll get the idea.
I want it and the front splitter so I can run these higher power and higher speed tracks with a little extra downforce. I'm also looking into doing an extractor style hood to help with hood lift and cooling.
The Gurney Flap/Wickerbill setup was made by Dan Gurney back in the day. It increases downforce without great increases of drag. So that's why I was trying to figure something out. I want downforce, but I don't want a big ridiculous wing.

Yea, it's cool to know this platform isn't quite dead yet. Options are good. For a while the only option was either a huge wing or the stock little spoiler. And the front splitter is cool. I kind of want to do a full under tray though, I'll handle that on my own after I figure out an extractor hood. Need air to escape somehow.

well im certainly in for updates.
I have a nice carbon fiber spoiler which is about as useful as a paperweight based the fact that it can't be installed due to fit/finish. and since its carbon it sucks as a paperweight too
anyway im with you on the spoiler / splitter / extractor hood / belly pan. Always on the look out for reasonable options that dont look terrible or cost 20% of the car's value.

Well, they just sent me info on their new radiator. I'll probably order one soon for when my stock radiator end tanks inevitably blow out. Its a dual pass unit that apparently isn't much thicker than the stock one. No fan shroud trimming required.
They are going to do a group buy on FB pages... I'll post it here too for you guys.
If you want in let me know.
Pricing is going to be $625 shipped retail according to them. If they can get at least 10 people then they can do $575 shipped.
