Maybe I'm Crazy
So I've been looking for a lower mileage V for a while and came across this one on a few sites.
https://m.ebay.com/itm/142512881529
I see that it's got Corsa, CS parts, and the wheels. Those are about $3,800 new in total. I think the asking price is pretty strong but maybe I'm undervaluing these cars too much? I'm going on past experience of having an Infared 07 with 30k miles 5 years ago that I paid 25,500 for.
What do you guys think? What do you think it's worth?

I'd call that a 20k car. 25k is getting in on higher mile V2s. Granted, they'll be autos, but still...
You're close on the parts, but it ain't that cheap when you add the labor and you KNOW it would have needed that work.
If you really just LOVED the V1, maybe you're the special buyer but it seems tough to me. Not crazy...but definitely tough.
Tippy top, exc cond private party value is 23.4k. Only 3% of cars hit the exc threshold. Even VG condition is 19k-21k. They're asking top dollar for sure but IF the underside is as clean as the top and inside, I'd jump on it...for 20k. JMHO

Thanks guys. I am really serious about getting one, and I offered 22k for it, but it was declined. They counter offered 24k even.
Honestly, 22k was more than what I was wanting to pay. I was going off the premise of about 18.5k base price plus the aftermarket parts. I know labor is expensive, but it's also already been paid for by whoever had it installed, if they paid to have it installed. I'd like to believe that anyone who installs Corsa exhaust and CS parts would have some mechanical inclination to even know about them and likely could have installed the parts themselves.
It's pretty obvious that they either paid too much for it at an auction and are trying to still salvage some profit, or they're living a pipe dream on how much it's worth. I'm not going to be a sucker just because it's everything I'd like to have. I guess for now, the search continues.

It's certainly got the right mods, no doubt, for someone who wants to keep the car. What you are saying is exactly what I was getting at. I think 22k was a good offer they should have taken. At 24k+, you can find some auto V2s in that range. They'll have a few more miles but it's simply more car in every respect that fixed all the issues of the V1. Patience is a virtue here and I think you made a fair move and did the right thing walking away. One piece of advice: if you haven't already driven a V2...don't. That will totally f*** your process in looking for a V1.

Yeah I totally understand.
I'd love to have a V2. I don't even need to drive one to know that. But I'd have to have a manual Recaro seat sedan with lower miles. That alone pushes me into the low 30's which is really way above my budget.
I know my criteria isn't easy to find, but one day I'll find my unicorn.

That one doesn't mention any rear upgrades. With that much power that's a time bomb.
What I'm looking for is <60k miles, 06 or 07, preferable not the tan interior, and fairly stock.
Bonuses - CS parts, Corsa, Kooks. Those are what I'd do to it when I get it.

I got a phone call from the dealership yesterday. They were willing to come to 23.7k but I told them it's too much and my offer was more than fair. He said he sells them all the time. I told him good luck but it's just going to sit on his lot and he's living a pipe dream if he thinks it'll sell for that much.
Honestly I don't like the way these guys do business so IMHO steer clear of iCars Chicago. I can equivalate them to the shady roadside dealers that charge way touch for too little car.

Hey man, noticed you were from NOVA. There is a silver 05 V here in Martinsburg for sale. Looks decent, unknown mileage for 15k. Looks like it had suspension work prior. Let me know if you are interested and I'll try to get more info for you
