Default Team dynamics, thoughts?

So I have another wheel I have to fix but at this point another wheel would mean it took 8 to get 4 good ones. Ready to just jump ship on the oem wheels. What's everyones thoughts on the team dynamics wheels? Don't find a lot of info about them out there. Are they a forged wheel?

Based on their price, I would imagine they're cast. The only other detail I see mentioned is "heat treated."

Cheapest option before going to full out custom. I’ve been using them for years on my race car and probably have 3 or 4 sets. Never had any issues or problems.

think im gonna pull the trigger on them, not fixing another wheel. sucks its the only 18 option but they have a similar spoke design as the stsv wheels so they will hopefully grow on me.

Can you still find these damn things? I've not been able to lay eyes on a place to get them in the last 6 months or so.

Guy on Facebook says he can get them, he is getting an inventory list next week. He didn't mention anything but I know the company pulled out of the us end of the year and sold there distributorship to another company.

Hopefully good news. Not spending another dime on a stock wheel.

I am in lust with their 19" 1.3 wheels. Wish they offered a staggered setup 8.5 and 9.5 as I have currently.

I'm waiting until I kill this set of tires, then doing 19x8.5 square and 245/40R19 square so I can rotate.

Shipping from their UK distributor isn't gawd aweful like it is shipping from US to Dubai.

The TD wheels are cast and heat treated (whatever that means). I've never had an issue with one. That said, I've never had an issue with the GM wheels, either; if I had busted 8 OEM wheels, perhaps I'd be having problems with the TD wheels, too.

Yeah, I feel like the OEM wheels are probably some of the stronger wheels you can put on this car---the tradeoff being that they're also fairly heavy. They're not quite steel wheels, but for alloys they're stout.

They have been second hand wheels, had some stupid dubs on the car when I got them.

They where autocross on and who knows what else. They where all tweaked and bent. The others I bought to phase out the worst ones I had off a part out car. Should have known better on that one. The rim that cracked I had repaired from being bent. The worst wheel had a flat spot Big enough to keep the wheel from rolling if you put the rim on the ground. I have had very bad luck with wheels is the understatement of the year.

I have always been a big fan of keeping stock wheels but I'm over it to the point I just want a set of virgin wheels and start over.

I usually bought my TD's from Sean at TrinityTEK out in AZ.
Not sure if he still has a storefront or on eBay anymore.

His contact info was 480.278.6609 or 800.734.9690
sales@trinitytekracing.com
Tell him Chris from NY with the racecar referred you

I got mine from him too. It appears his website and ebay storefront disappeared a while ago. Was a good guy to deal with. Hope he’s doing well. I have a set of black ones that I would sell if I decide to trade the car in this spring. I’m still waffling. Mine are mint with 245/45 RS-As with plenty of tread and Nitto 555 275/40 with even more for the rear. I’m still waffling on a V2 wagon.

Go for the Vagon. I don't think you'll regret it.

sounds like in december of last year the US branch of team dynamics got shut down and now the sole US distributor is forgeline. i'm working on getting that connection reestablished so i can continue having access to these wheels.

plus, then i might be able to get access to forgeline along the way. win, win.

edit: aaaaaaand, i'm in.

Forge comments confirmed on being the Team Dynamics Distributor for North America. Good guys there.
