I would imagine there are some useful tidbits here: http://automobileman.com/wp/wp-conte...?189db0&189db0

Sadly, I will not be getting the engine. It was snagged ahead of the fellar that propositioned on giving me the engine. Meh, oh well for me. But this is still a great start on how any of the V1 folks can adapt and adopt the newer LT series.

Pretty similar to an LS3 with headers and tune with an extra MPG or two.

100% true, but bone stock gen V LT1 vs LS3 with headers and tune are going to be spitting distance of each other, both in the numbers and shape of the curve. Maybe a touch more low end tq with the LT1 with the cam magic and MPGs due to AFM. Still within spitting distance when it comes to what makes it to the rollers. May have to see if I can find some dynos...

I used to hate on the direct injection systems using the old rationale of more things, more complications, more parts to fail.
However, I think the auto manufacturers on the global scale so far have been doing a fair job. I don't know how many cars are getting into higher mileage scenarios but I have not heard of issues. The potential of the LT series is much larger, just from the fueling perspective alone (not even considering how the delivery method of fuel has changed as well to better utilize the wider field of pressures the fuel goes through).
I really had hopes I was getting that engine. THe engine was at an auction house, a super Old friend of mine that has a few MG's and some Offy engines saw a 2016 LT1 from a wrecked Corvette. The engine was supposedly in good running condition, the car lost control and looked like went sideways into a phone pole and bent the frame around the pole a bit. All in the damage towards the rear half of the chassis... either way, this thread should really be the best starting point for anyone able to snag an LT and place that sucker in a V1. I still would like to do this, as I prefer N/A power delivery.

I'm kicking around replacing my tired LS6 bottom end with an LS3. I'll need the 24 reductor wheel and sensor change out stuff but haven't figured out what else is needed to make the change.
I'll be keeping the P&P 243's and and Ceracoated headers as they were all purchased previously. Trying to decide if I target a takeout longblock LS3 or any of the Caddy/Yukon iterations. Haven't found good options that were "known" and lower mileage as of yet under 3500... Really didn't want to be that deep in the project but... I'm thinking that maybe I have the shop check over my LS6, freshen the Z06 heads (new valve springs, lifters etc) and sell as a long block? In theory that's 2500 off the cost if I'm patient enough.
