What bugs you about your V1?
I thought I would start a thread about people's "pet peeve" they have about their V1.
Mine: for 13 years it has always been a crapshoot on if the memory seat will work when I put the key in.
Usually works right for the rest of the day after the car is driven.
It has been looked at by service depts multiple times.
I could swear the car is haunted.

The DIC. The electronics are the most obviously outdated part of this car. Unfortunately we're probably at least 10-20 years away from OEM systems being mature enough to mod without a whole bunch of hardcore engineering work. For a brief minute I thought CarPlay was going to be a thing, but Apple didn't have the followthrough, and their competitors don't have the brains.

Probably the recurring low coolant light that I cannot get rid of. Replaced everything, grounds clean, new sensor etc.
Second is dss axles. I wish they could design a decent CV joint.
Third is dorman quit making a drive shaft. I like mine, but they only made a small amount of them.

My expectations are pretty low (not you, just forum stuff in general). Sorry. I assumed you replaced the coolant temperature sensor or tried some sort of half measure on the tank sensor or harness. Per process of elimination, it sounds like you have an insulation failure or corrosion in a connector shell.

talk to Lindsey Cadillac got my replacement set through the mail cheap. Got an extra set for next time too! Looks great no light leaks just make sure to use the gaskets around the stock buttons. Kinda confusing at first but you’ll get it if you play with them a bit.
really easy to install yourself. I think it took an hr or two.

The one thing that bugs me the most is there are no rear A/C vents.............no the "vents" on the floor don't count

^^^ Yup.
I don't know that you'll need the extra set. When I bought my car with ~18k miles on it the buttons were chipped to hell. I waited until just before the 36k warranty was up, and had the stereo/nav swapped out under warranty. 110k miles later, all of the buttons are still fine. I think the original, factory buttons were coated improperly somehow, but GM (or their supplier) figured it out eventually, so the later production head units (and presumably the replacement buttons sold separately) are much more durable.
Or maybe I just got lucky?

I’ve only owned the car for about 10 months.
It was was the first thing I fixed. I just don’t want them to be discontinued and be screwed so I got an extra set of buttons.
I got the new ***** but not new spares because you can easily paint the old ones just in case
i think shipped I paid 150 which I think would cover every button. (I didn’t need the lettered buttoned just the dotted ones)

Yeah I guess. I bought the car almost completely stock. It had new motor mounts, a corsa catback exhaust, and a short throw shifter when I bought it. The same day the rear end blew doing a hole shot. Didn’t spring for the 8.8 though... I was low on funds seeing as I bought the car that day. Some day.
I just bought some kooks headers, hi flo cats, a cai, iridium plugs and wires. can’t wait to get that package in the mail.
Fighting the urge to put a set of forgestars on.

Fight your foot and fix the whole soft rubber bushing thing in the chassis. The car was truly made for the Cadillac name and not the power that was given. Two great companies make entire bushing sets for the chassis. RevShift and Creative-Steel.
