Default Headlight Replacement

Recently had one of my HID low beams go out on my 07 CTS V. Was figuring I might as well get some new housings with the halos in them instead of just changing the bulb. The website says that these housings will not work with the HID system on the car... Anyone know if that's true at all, and if so, what are my options for replacing the housings?

Just a couple of threads worth checking out. Search for "halo" and you'll find others.

I see a couple people have the same questions but I'm yet to figure out what keeps the halo style housings from complying with factory HID setups. And if they actually don't, is there another option?

Yes Depo brand lights. Search for my thread titled “Has anyone tried these lights yet?”.

it will present a plug and play option.

A good bit bit of the reason is the projectors are not hid in many aftermarket CTS base and V lights. The depo ones are.

Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse here, but is there a way to make some of the Ebay housings work? Looking for a clean halo light.

Lots of people have done it. None fit as well as OEM and some require some fiddling to get the plugs to work, not always straight up rewiring but reversing polarity on connectors and whatnot. I’m not gonna go dig them up but I know I’ve read them over the last couple years, the info is there, but it’s all YMMV like any non-oem style mod. I’ve not seen anything in a halo-type as perfect as what Byron found to be an OEM replacement.

Bummer, I'll do so more digging. I'm sure I'll end up just buying OEM style.
