Stereo install frustration

So I'm not a newb. I've done quite a few for myself and others, including plenty of GM vehicles. I have put a complete stealth system in this car and finally decided to modernize the face of it. Been playing with putting an Appradio into this turd and it has been a pain. I have the wiring diagram for the connectors into the Bose Nav Hu and the install notes for the Pioneer Appradio. Problem 1 is the install notes call for tapping a non existent purple wire. Problem 2 is finding a 12v and 12v switched to tap. Everything seems to be 5v going into this POS HU. Then some of the 5v circuits became 9v, which made no sense at all, so I gave up and realized the battery had died. That explained the 9v readings on the multi but the 5v still a lil odd. Never mind all the plastics I cracked getting it apart. Anyone have any details on how they installed their 2xDiN HU? I'm not retarded but kinda feeling like it and my schematics don't show anything that I can see match up to the purple wire, which I'm guessing is in the base CTS. Help a semi retarded brother out? :)

Lift up the steering wheel and tap into the brown wire (accessory) on the key switch for switched 12 volt.
