Default CTS-V Real hp #?

I've read plenty of articles and I have heard that CTS-V has 400hp and 395ft or at least around there. I just a thread in a different CTS-V forum where the V put down 318hp. I am in the market to buy one and was wondering if this is true? If it isn't what are the true #?

Your coparing crank h.p. vs. rear wheel horsepower. A typicl stock V on a Dynojet should dyno in the 330-340 rwhp range. On a Mustang dyno, well, it depend's on what the dyno operator used for inputs.

My experience has been 320-330 for an ls6 and 330-340 for an ls2 on a mustang. But like you said, it depends on the weight they enter for the car. I've been using either 3800 or 4000 (don't recal which).

I thought both the LS6 and LS2 make about the same power; in the 335RWHP area. My '04 with B&B Headers, cats, exhaust, tune, CAI made 375RWHP. Not bad for NA. It is also for sale.

Mine made 540 NA, but I changed the block, heads, cam and intake.

My 2004 CTS-V with very minor bolt-ons (Magnaflow Cat-back and Lingenfelter CAI) made 325 RWHP / 342 RWTQ (SAE corrected).

In case you were interested, I added Kooks headers, new plugs, and wires and ended up with 351 RWHP / 365 RWTQ.

Pretty decent gains for basically just adding long tube headers.

First time I dyno'd my car I made 302. I added a CAI, and re dyno'd somewhere else, and I was at 345.

CAI make 43 rwhp differce Hell no, two VERY different dyno's. Dyno numbers are only relevant on the same dyno, and even those can differ if they were recalibrated, in between differnt dyno sessions.

My ***-dyno says my car make 800,000 rwhp !!!!

Stock heads, block and cam here. Just the normal boltons.

Now, to actually contribute something consistent with the thread, my 2005 (LS6) with ONLY a K&N CAI did 350.34 rwhp and 340.30 rwtp. In all fairness - I think the dyno was being a little generous that day.

I want to say the two previous pulls were in the high 330, then low 340 rwhp range. The only difference was letting the car cool a little from the drive over, as I pretty much went straight to the dyno.

Those wheels look like the ones from the G8.
