convert M6 to A4 is this possible to do. a shop i work at had a guy come in that wants to convert. can this be done? like with a 4l80E or 4l60e or new 6l60E thanks |
A4? I believe that Chris (2C5s) researched this and found that the floor pan transmission hump is not large enough. With that said, new floorboards could be fabricated, new carpet, console, Etc. (an awful lot of butchery on a nice car). :emb: Tell him to wait for the 2009. :D |
it just wont fit in there? what about the BFH Mod? |
The reason they were only offered in a manual is because the engineers could not find a way to cram a high torque handling auto into the space available... I'm guessing that if GM engineers couldn't find a cost effective way of doing it, the aftermarket world can't do a cost effective yet good looking job either without major fabrication and lots of $$$ Jay |
I am amazed that no one has done this yet. For crying out loud- if a guy can fit an LS1 drivetrain into a Civic hatchback, it can be done on a CTS-V. Probably the best trans would be the A6 from the new Pontiac G8. FR configuration, and already designed to attach to an LSx motor. A few modifications to the drivetrain plus some hammering/welding on the tunnel should get it done. |
Didn't Rodney at RPM do a A4 conversion on a V? John @ Speartech said he has a controller to put in an A6. It has to be an 06-07 and he said if you want one you will have to call him and ask. |
what is different between the 05 body and the 09 body. like the under side. how they fit one in the 09 and not the 05? thanks and i do think the a6 is the better route |
