Default Tinting the windshield...

I am about to go get the windows tinted on the V and was thinking about getting the windshield tinted all the way down. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and if it would possibly interfere with the sensor on the dash that I am guessing controls the automatic lights and the rain sensor for the wipers. I am going to black out the car all the way around, but just wanted to put a 50% or 60% layer of tint on the front just to keep it nice and dark.

I'd be afraid if there was ever an accident, you being found completely at fault due to the windshield or something. Lawsuit even maybe...

But as for your actual question, I forget whose car it is, but there's a red V in Vegas with tinted windshield.

Yeah, that was the other thing that kinda worried me as well. I would hate to end up in serious trouble because of something as small as a tinted windshield. I am still thinking it over. I think that if I black out all of the surrounding windows and just do a strip across the top of the windshield that I may be fine as well as far as keeping people from being able to see in. Since tint is a pain to remove it would be hard for me to say that I am going to try a tinted windshield for a while to see how I like it and then just take it off if it is too much. Maybe not tinting the windshield fully would be the best bet...

Yeah, I think that plan is probably best. If you have dark tinted side windows you can roll them down when you get pulled over; the windshield not so much.

What color is your car? Interior color? Those factors play into how dark tint looks as well. When I have mine retinted I think I'm going to go around 15% all around and maybe the tint strip. Post up pics if you go with the strip, as I want to see how it looks on these cars. Those strips can be really hit or miss depending on the car.

i put 5% limo on top of the factory tint all the way around which made it 2%. and put a 5% eye brow on the front windshield down to the ASI line. Dark as hell, already got a $300 tint ticket. but its the price you pay to have style and to me its worth it. the rest of my car is blacked out too and looks amazing

I believe that I am just going with 5% all around and just leaving the windshield alone or just doing a strip on it...just to be on the safe side. Maybe that will be good enough. I'll get some pics up after I get it done this weekend.

good luck trying to back up at night with the windows up...
youth is fun aint it?

just some sound advice...
i went 15% on all rears...
30% on fronts...i have blk interior, so the amount of light that
comes in the car is minimal, but i have great visibility from a drivers standpoint.

I had an 05 V with 5% all the way around and 50% on the whole windshield. Did not mess with the wipers at all but the auto light just come on a little sooner..... If I were you dont do any darker than 50% cause I have a truck rightnow with 35% on the windshield and it sucks at night in the rain!!!!!!!!!!! My V looked sick like that!

Well, I got the windows tinted over the weekend and I decided to skip tinting the windsheild all the way down. I did go ahead and do 5% all the way around the car with a 5% strip on the windshield though and I like it. I am just keeping my fingers crossed the the Atlanta police think it looks just as good as I do and won't give me too much grief over it.

i know its an old thread, however i thought i would add my 2 cents. I have had 30% on the windshield, and that was too dark, but i have done 50% on all my cars, and its subtle enough to help, but not enough to get noticed. My tint on my cars is usually 50% windshield, 15% sides, 5% back. i have had great results with this. My v will be 50% front, 30% sides, 5% rear. this is my only black car so i think it will turn out sick.
