Hi All,

I picked up a 2011 CTS-V a couple months ago. Yesterday it started to whine quite loudly and has been intermittently doing it since. Sometimes when it is not whining I can hear it growling - one of the bearings does not sound healthy. It was distinctly coming from the lid area and not the pulleys.

I pulled the lid but can't see much. There was a bunch of oil in there though. I saw some pictures on line - looks somewhat typical. Is there more disassembly I can do to find the root of the issue? Does anyone know where I can find a cross-section or parts breakdown of the supercharger?

has anyone here rebuilt theirs?

www.superchargersonline.com also can rebuild them if you want to send it in, I believe they said a 2-5 day turn around for all rebuilds. This is the only approved vendor for rebuilding the Eaton units.

Caddy has increased the blower warranty to 100k miles and I believe 10 yrs due to a known problem such as yours. You might try your local dealer

That's absolutely not going to happen unless he's friends with the service manager (LPE pulley, ZL1 Lid...)

Jokerz Performance doesn't ridiculously good work and just a simple bearing rebuild will actually be pretty cheap. Hit him up. His name is Brett.
