'11 CTS-V Supercharger Bearing Whine
Hi All,
I picked up a 2011 CTS-V a couple months ago. Yesterday it started to whine quite loudly and has been intermittently doing it since. Sometimes when it is not whining I can hear it growling - one of the bearings does not sound healthy. It was distinctly coming from the lid area and not the pulleys.
I pulled the lid but can't see much. There was a bunch of oil in there though. I saw some pictures on line - looks somewhat typical. Is there more disassembly I can do to find the root of the issue? Does anyone know where I can find a cross-section or parts breakdown of the supercharger?
Mods:
ZL1 Lid
1 7/8" Headers + High Flow Cats
LPE Heat Exchanger
Custom Cam, springs, pushrods, trunions
2.55 Upper Pulley, Isolator, Idler relocation bracket/100mm idler
ATi Crank Hub 18% over-drive
160 T-Stat
1000cc Injectors
TR6 Plugs
Air-Raid intake
Oil catch can

www.superchargersonline.com also can rebuild them if you want to send it in, I believe they said a 2-5 day turn around for all rebuilds. This is the only approved vendor for rebuilding the Eaton units.
