what are the chances MTO screws that up! I would bet alot of the cars may not have catalytic convertors?
very cool event, unfortunately i will be headed to NMCA for the true street class there. only draw back is the chance to win $1000 ! that is awesome!!!!
great class, very cool to see the support for the badass street cars that prowl the streets!
........ now if you did it at St. Thomas, I would be game

Not that mine is running or quick enough, are emssion equipment required? They is part of being street legal. If you got pulled over without them, you would be charged.
So newer cars would need real cats. Old ones, are little luckier.
Just curious on the enforcement of the "must be street legal rule".
There is also no mention of must meet the safety equipment requirements of the cars speed/time potential or do orgainizer turn a blind eye to safety regulations for this class?

So not truely street legal as defined in Ontario. You cannot certify or register a 75 or newer car with out them. Legally.
If the cars got pulled over for a road side inspection on the 30 mile drive, there would be issues.
That is all I wanted to know. I have been making every effort to make mine truly street legal. We will see how I make out with that soon. I spent about an hour or more on the phone with the MOE trying to figure a route to take with my car.

Should make 600rwhp, 700rpm idle, Cathedral ports, no lobe and NA. Hopefully I am right.
My old motor went 10.7 through cats, who knows what this will do. This one should be much cleaner and a little faster.
I should have paid some one to complete it this time around, but there is something to be said for doing it yourself too. Nothing to do with money either, just in the interest of expanding knowledge and skills.
Anyway back to the topic, I just wanted to know if as the rules stated must be street legal, if it really meant street legal, which in this case it does not. The term is always thrown around, but never really meant or enforced in these events.
It is cool that you are limiting the ice, fuel, NOS top ups and so on though. Sort of shows the power needs to be there most of the time.
Hopefully you get some good weather for it.

What is street legal? Proper tires, all parts install have dot approval. All car must pass a safety certfication. It's great your trying to achieve something that is difficult but not impossible. We are the process of building something similar to yours with same goal of being emissions legal.

Roy's was solid roller too, right?
Is this since the new emissions testing will not be using a snifer or to do you have plan to calm the idle down? :-)
A mild H/C car has more lobe at idle than mine does. I think that helps idle emissions, but that is the main reason I picked the Harrop. Are you doing a single plane intake again?
