Default The Official Fastest Canadian Cars thread

Alright ladies and Gentlemen... Finally, I got the bugs all worked out (I think). And I am ready to open the polls to start the bragging rights.

I am *hoping* this might get stickied so that it doesn't get lost at the end of the race season or during slow periods

We got 5 categories right now (click the category for the link to the times), if there is a need to further break things down, or get more categories for other engines/vehicles/etc going, then we can address that to. Home page that links to all of the records will be located here: Canadian Records Home Page

Here are the common rules that pertain to every single class:
  • Tuning is allowed on all vehicles
  • Drag radials, slicks, or street tires are always OK
  • All suspension mods are ok
  • Rear end swaps / gears are ok
  • No emissions is ok
  • Must always be a full bodied vehicle- no buggies or funny cars or that kinda thing
  • ***All times must be track proven- no accelerometer times***
  • Proof is preferred- it is 100% needed if you are breaking a record. Proof can be a video, or a timeslip with a picture of the track numbers written on your car included- or anything else that is valid. If you post a timeslip, I will copy it and post it in a direct link on my website just FYI. I will be linking to videos as well.
  • must be living in Canada or be Canadian

_____________________________________________

Ok- now for the classes

Class #1 Fastest Canadian Bolt on only F-body or Factory equipped LS1 car
Rules:
  • Car must be a 4th gen F-body with one of the factory optioned engines installed (LS1, LT1, 3.8, 3.4) or a factory optioned LS1 car (C5 vettes, GTO's etc)
  • The car must be bolt on only and stock internals- i.e (no heads, cam, block, crankshaft, nitrous or Forced induction modifications allowed)
  • Any intake manifold is OK

Class #2 Fastest Canadian F-body or Factory equipped LS1 car Cam only
Rules:
  • The car must be a 4th Generation F-body (1993-2002) or a factory equipped LS1 vehicle such as a C5 vette, GTO etc.
  • The F-body must have the factory optioned engine installed (LS1, LT1, 3.4, 3.8)
  • The vehicle must be stock internals- i.e (no head work other than valve springs and pushrods, no block work, crankshaft, nitrous or forced induction modifications allowed)
  • Any intake manifold is ok

Class #3 Fastest Canadian 5th/6th Gen Camaro
Rules:
  • The vehicle must be a 5th Gen or 6th Gen Camaro with a factory equipped engine!
  • All modifications allowed- anything goes as long as it is on a factory optioned block.

Class #4 Fastest Canadian LSx Period
Rules:
  • The vehicle must be a factory optioned LSX vehicle and still have the engine installed! (Any LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LS7, LS9)
  • Anything goes, no rules- heads, cam, nitrous, forced induction, stroked, it all counts

Class #5 Fastest LS Swapped vehicles
Rules:
  • The vehicle must have an LS swap done to it- any LS motor
  • LS engines have no rules- anything goes- heads, cam, intake, stroked, forced induction, nitrous, all ok

you're going back to the track soon- you'll beat this time real quick haha. I actually know you ran 12.26 so it isn't much of an issue, but I need the numbers for the traps and 1/8th!

and you're loaded up! first ones in...

Gotchya...you're ranked last right now as you don't have a 1/4 time...but if you sort it by 1/8th mile you're second.

One day once my time opens up from work in late August early September I'll figure out some kinda coding to make the table readjust the ranking numbers based on how you sort!

updated! Sorry I have been slow guys- getting killed with work right now

that thing is moving- nice time Big Hammer- what's the race weight on that thing? Must have some good reduction since you're an M6 pulling those times? What kind of bolt ons are you running?

A couple of people have offered suggestions to me to- I will look into those sometime end of August when works slows down for me- right now things are insane

Congrats on the new PB and on becoming the fastest(that we know) Canadian bolt on car in the 1/8th

I figure your car should run 11.8's at 115mph or so in the 1/4.

Thanks Tom! I seen your other post too. I'm not very keen on sharing too much about the car at this point. Not that I'm trying to be shady, just that it drives our ford friends nuts on this site when I say it's "just bolt ons", which it is.

I spent a lot of the winter tinkering with drive train efficiencies. To be honest I was shocked at the MPH it pulled. And I think there's more in it yet. I do have some pics that I'll share from race day. Pretty sure there was a 7.4 in the car that day, but they closed the staging lanes because it was starting to get dark. DA was around ~2800 for the 7.55 pass. Should be running the 1/4 on august 16. I'll keep you guys posted for sure
