Default new times with cool air

Took my mustang to the 8th mile track friday nite for some test and tune. Been have I think some fuel pressure issues, kinda new to the carb stuff. I think I need to go down a jet size. Anyways I add a little more timing and turned down the 2 step to 2500 and got a 6.79 @ 103.23 with a 1.52 sixty foot. I think I need a better stall that works with my cam but Im still happy with the results. Its pulling really hard on the other end.

My car is a 91 coupe with a LQ4 short block, ported 317 heads, 9.8:1 compression, 244/250 .612/.620 lift cam, gm intake and pro systems carb. Tranny is a powerglide with a brake and 4:11 gear.

Damn it makes me want a lighter car man. You trap 10 more MPH than me with the same engine(i have unported heads and a slightly smaller cam). But, it is a street car so i dont mind too much, i know i have more left in the combo with a set of porter 243/799.

Smokin times though none the less. Sure you might have a bit more left.

Not sure what the car weights but its got full interior and everything works still. Yea I really need to find someone that knows how to tune a carb. I think it could use a little tuning. My goal was a 6.70 pass, it was a high 6.70 pass but I got it. Im very happy with my results.

First one I bought I charged people $50 to use it for a day on their personal cars and then put it back on my car after making all the money back so it was free.

Damn good idea, i have a buddy that will go in on one with me im sure. Would really be worth it to get it squared away. I have the edelbrock setup, i just use it to see if i notice a lean spot. About all it is good for.

the scr is dam low for that size cam. but it works obviously.
it will significantly improve all around if/when step up to milled 243 heads for higher scr .

Man its small around 3000 very tight to. It will footbrake around 2 and I have my 2 step set at 2500. Usually 60 foots around a 1.57 on footbrake and a 1.52 off the 2 step. I am also gonna send it off and have it restalled during the winter.

Man Im not gonna lie, I love it. All the die hard racers around here are either gen 1 small block chevy or stroked fords on alky. As soon as some of them found out what was in it and what all was done to it on pump gas. Well needless to say they wont speak no more. One die hard ford guy told me you can get the same results out of a stroked ford. He said just go look at my brothers car. Well I walked over and looked at it and its got huge tubs with a huge tire behind it, no dash, one seat. A stripped down drag car and it runs 6.80's and 90's. I said man my car has full interior, drag radials, blinkers, lights, heater, wipers, horn still works and still my et is a little better and my mph is like 6 more mph than his trap speed. Im really gonna mess them up when I start driving it to the track. They are always got the jack under theres working on it, adding alky every pass. I havent turned one wrench on my car at the track or have to add fuel all the time. Sorry for the long post had to vent. LOL

Nice times!!! I am working on my LQ4/317 swap in my Chevelle with a Glide and 4.10s. It ran 7.0s@100(spinning) with my old iron headed 355 with 100 shot. If I can get get it to run that or better on motor i don't know what I will do! I want to do a turbo blowthrough setup but I think I will see how it does on motor first. And yes, STREET CARS FOR LIFE!!!

Yea, got a ford guy that swears by the 302s and yadda yadda, it is cool and all, but a 302 is junk compared to these engines, i like my old chevys too, but they are in the LS shadow.
