Sounds like you need the l92 victor jr intake and the ignition controller will be the msd6010 if it is a 99-07 6.0.

I have a carbed 5.3 in my 67 firebird. As far as clearance goes, it's a tight squeeze, but it should work. I have a dropped 3" air cleaner on mine with no problems so far.

You need to keep some sensors, ie. map, cam, crank to use with the 6010 box. Give the manual a quick read and you should be able to figure it out.

Hood clearance is tight on a first gen other than that there is plenty of room. I have a shot of my engine in my profile that will give you an idea of what it looks like.

The MAP sensor is optional, several of us do not run one.

If you want to throw in some extra timing at part throttle cruising it can get a bit better fuel economy, but i run such an aggressive timing curve i just dont need one.
