What is the foam for in my intake gasket kit?

Default What is the foam for in my intake gasket kit?
I noticed 2 pieces of adhesive backed foam in my Felpro intake gasket kit. I also noticed that the stock truck intake had a huge chunk of foam under the intake. What it is for?

it's for the trash can if you're putting a carb on the motor
