Default Is my 850 DP too big

So I am building my LQ9, stock 317 heads for now, its got a TSP 233/239 cam, headers, vic jr. going into a fox mustang 6-speed. i bought a Holley 850 double pumper HP series for it knowing at some point i want to spray the car but now i think i went to big? I havent touched the carb so I might send it back to Jegs to get a 750 instead. Whats you guys thoughts?

I used a Holley 1000HP(Big 850) on my LQ4 with 243's and single plane intake. Its not too big imo. I think you would be happier with the GMPP intake---just my thoughts

So its a 850 HP? They are normally called 1000 now if a HP series and have the 1.750" base plate and the larger venturis. These motors do well with the 750 HP body with possibly a 1hp gain with a 850 base plate. I think you should stick with it. I want to go to a 1000 HP.

Cheers

It will work fine if you have it dialed in.
