I just build a carb 6.0 and I love it..... Need to buy a MSD box 6010 or 6012....the 6010 box is for older engines and the 6012 is for the newer engines I'm not sure the years....something about the reflector wheel one is like a 58 tooth and the other is like 20 something I'm really not sure..... Then get a intake I got a duel plane.... Like it very well for street driving but I do a lot of drag racing so I wish I had got a single plane for the track....but I don't really think they're is a big diffencnt in them.... Hope what little I know was helpful.....

Like the above poster said, you need an MSD box to control your coil packs. 6010 is for 1998-2004(I think) 24x reluctor wheel motors and the 6012 is for the later model 58x reluctor. Good luck with the build and keep us posted. This forum can be a wealth of information... remember the search feature is your friend.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing with my LS conversion.
Just wondering, Would I really need a PCM at all with this setup?

I am trying to stay as light as possible (hopefully under 2900 when finished) and as little electronic BS as possible.
Limited street use only.

Here's some more insight. Yes you will need Either msd box depending on model year you have. Both boxes come with their own harness that will hook to all the other factory sensors. You will still need to retain the cam, crank sensors, as well as supply your coil packs. Either box can be used N/a,nitrous'd, or boosted. If going boosted you will need the proper map sensor for your boost level you are planning to use. The fuel system is just like any other run of the mill small/big block set up. Hope this is a little more usefull.
