Default 6012 tunning tips (help)

Ok so i will come right out and say my 15 year old knows more about computers than me. I would like to set my 6012 up with a custom program instead of the chips. It has a pat g speced cam l92 ported heads vic jr intake with a proform 950 carb.tci 4000 stahl and 488 gears. I have a trans break and a zex plate system. Would like to spray 150 i bought a msd digital window swith as i have the trans break(so no wot switch) So if any on can tell me some perameters to set so i dont blow it up that would be great. Pat said **** 6700 rev limit 7000 But i have no idea the timing curve to program. Or if there is anyone out there that lives close enough for me to take it to i live near Grand rapids Mi any help would be great.Trying to finish this as it is in a blazer for silver lake sand dunes Thanks Again.

I would go with 20 initial, ramp it to 34* total, all in by 2000, set the timing retard to pull 6 degrees, run a BR7EF NGK plug, run the window switch to be activated from 3000 to 6900 RPM.

Then, once the engine is getting dialed in well, start tuning the nitrous, reading plugs.

A wide band O2 setup will really make initial tuning a snap.

the program from MSD on a lap top is easy man, read up and start playing with the settings and you will have it down in no time.

set the window switch to come on above your stall speed(maybe 4200), so the nitrous is not activated while on the transbrake and the engine is up against the stall (4K). UNLESS you are using the 2-step set below the nitrous activation rpm.

Have window switch turn nitrous off BELOW the high rpm limiter in the msd or it will explode the engine - nitrous does not play nice with rev limiters.
Personally I would raise the MSD top rpm limiter up a few hundred revs(7200), and set your nitrous window top rpm to just over your shift rpm6900.
again, you DONT want nitrous flowing when the rev limiter comes on.
just my opinions of course.

I would not run that much timing.

We have been running 30 and have had no issues. car seems to run the best like this.

You don't need a bunch of timing with these motors.

Set it up so at cruse you have 36-38 and once you put some load on the the map sensor will pull timing out down to 30. Making changes on the fly down the highway is the quickest way to get it dialed in.

You really need to use the map. Drivabilty and idle will be much better.
