Default Carbing a 09 5.3, What tranny?

I got a low miles motor/trans off a rolled over suburban. I have a carbed intake, and based on your guys help, Ill need a different MSD box

My question is, can I use the electronic transmission or do you think it would be more cost effective to run a 700r4?

then sell off the electronic trans unless you're buying that expensive trans controller, and a good choice would be a th350 or th400, or the 700R4 if you can get the kickdown to work with proper travel, which is buying several brackets to make the travel exactly what the trans wants to keep it happy.

Ahh. Ive been looking into it. I might sell my carb setup, and buy a cable operated tb to get rid om my DBW. What cheap external pump is everyone using?
What else would I need?
I have seen a few budget EFI builds. Might go that route if I see that its cost effective.
We've done a carb swap with a 350 trans behind it. I just wanted to do what I know. I have a 78, and 62, both getting LS swaps, so might do one and one.

There is more to it than just putting a cable operated throttle body on it, for efi. That pcm operating system won't know to look for a seperate IAT, TPS, and IAC. Just order the correct electronic pedal to match the motor and pcm, keep the electronic transmission and have a nice driving truck with efi.

The brackets that come with the edelbrock intake will work perfect for a lockdown cable with my experience, but the trans controller I have that was 570$ that controls the 2002 4l60 behind my carbed 2009 4.8 us a dream, I did have ti get a tps sensor and make a bracket but now it is great.

If you are going EFI, use whatever tranny comes with your pullout. If you are going carb, I would use a TH200-4R over the TH700. The trans experts that I trust say the TH200-4R is stronger when built and it has better gear ratios.
