Default 04 5.3L wont stay running Help!

I did a 5.3l swap mounted on a th350. I have the motor installed, it starts and runs but then it revs really high and then shut down. I have all the vacuums plugged up just to see how it starts. I installed the msd ignition and did not wire the step retard and the 2 step rev limit. I have to get the exhaust installed but other than that im done if I can get it running. I played with the curve modules and it does the same thing.

Got fuel? Could it be leaning out and shutting down?

What ignition controller and what crank sensor is on the engine, sounds like a 58x with a 6010 ignition might make a signal read high and increase timing after it starts, but I could be wrong.

The motor is stock. Im using the stock fuel pump from a 1990 Chevy Caprice. What psi does the fuel need to be at? I figured since I was using the carb the stock pump would be just fine.

Havent had a chance to run the pump but thats simple....im using a holley blue....bolt it above rear end right by the tank...run a hose in the tank hope 1/2 inch....just connect to my original 3/8 lines going to front of car then regulator set at 6.5 per quick fuel instructions and all should be good...will know for sure 2mar tho..

Was your car fuel injected, it should've been...u need to find out what your fuel pressure is..running carb then it shouldnt be higher than 6psi...i really dont think you can run it now like you have it coming from your stock pump but im sure if im wrong sum1 else could chime in on that.

I think its the fuel too. I found an holly regulator from jegs. I ordered it today do let see. So with this regulator I'll be using the return line in the chevy.
