The guys at Oreilly roll their eyes when I walk in. Lol. The main question is "what the hell are you working on now?"

Everything is together all the fluids are topped off and turned the key and nothing. I didn't have much time to do much i did swap the coil connectors and still it just cranked. I noticed it didn't turn over to fast. The MSD is grounded to the back of the head a.d the hot wire is connected to the old coil wire. I haven't checked for spark yet. That's on the agenda along with a bigger batt'ry. If all else fails Im going to need a crank or cam sensor.

I was wrong to jump to conclusions about a sensor. I regrounded my negative cable and it fired right up. Now i get to work on something else like my caprice then again one project is never really done, lol.

Glad you didn't fry the box. Bad grounds have killed many of them. I always ground to the back intake bolt, pass side.

Im glad my box didn't fry either. I did get to take the truck out. It ran great it wanted to stumble a little bit, it may have been where it wasn't warmed up. I think i may need to invest in another cooling fan or i got some grime in the steam port piping because it got a little hot when i pulled in the driveway.

I went to napa and got a p/s repair line. It came with a 16mm fitting and 6" of hard line. I flared the other end of it and put a 3/8" hard line fitting. I think the threads were 5/8x11 or 5/8x18 and used a coupler. The other side i just used a hose clamp and a piece of rubber hose.

I'm doing a 6.0 swap in a 86 c10. Did you have to use the muscle car oil pan conversion or would the factory pan work on the 5.3?

Factory pan will work. The f body pan or CTSV will give more room for slammed trucks.

The 6.0 came out of a 04 hummer and my C10 is lowered pretty good. You think I will have any issues with existing oil pan?

The gm musclecar and the h3 pan are the same. You won't have to worry about it hitting the crossmember. lol. Zone you did a swap on a later model truck what pan did u use. Do u know if there are any difference in the frames from yours to mine.

A year later I've got around To The 5.3 that blew up in my truck. It lost compression and was over heating. The drivers side didn't look that bad when I took the head off but the passengers side was a different story. The passengers head has a chunk missing between 2 & 4 cylinder combustion chambers. Has anyone else seen this? The drivers side can this be honed out or does it need bored?

truck looks good man,i had a question iam doing a similar swap5.3 l33 with a hair dryer on it. my question is how did you do your alternator wiring? i have the 2 wire plug in it,my battery is in the bed with the ground on the frame and positive ran to the starter. the wires i got from the junk yard had a battery cable for the negative side with a 8 or 10 pin plug in it.... what do i need to get this thing to charge?

Thanks, I haven't had much luck with this truck actually lol! All I needed was the wire going from the alt to the starter and I picked up an adapter harness from summit. It's been a while since I've been on here, lol! Is the 8-10 pin plug coming from the efi harness?
