Yep done it quite a few times even with the stock K member. I found 1 3/4" BBK 351W fox headers. Cut the flanges off flush. Rounded the square port. Used a trans tailshaft with the right size small bolt and welded a large 1/2" socket on the other end to put a breaker bar on and rounded them. Its a lot easier to take them to a muffler shop and have them swelled back to round if your bucks up or know someone.
Put them on the car and make sure they clear the transmission shift linkage before tacking them.

Unless you get a great deal on the swap headers, I would just get the dynatechs. Keep a eye on the classifieds here, they pop up for sale all the time.

Never used shorty's on a fox swap. 1998-99 camaro manifolds would probably clear and you wouldn't have to change the flanges.

The best money you can spend is the $300 or so it takes to buy a set of the LS/fox heddman hustler mid length swap headers
