Default GPS speedo

Which is best guys? Not sure who has one, but it has to have a trip odometer I can reset, that way a fuel level gauge is not needed, and I can monitor them precious MPGs.

The analog pieces are not happening. There was a digital piece I saw on eBay, 2 different face colors and I saw a odometer. Didn't look like there was a reset though.

Ive got a speedhut. Its a analog but its really tightly packaged. Nit a deep gauge atall. Its pretty sweet. 0-60 timer and feet to get there, 1/4 mile, odometer, 2 trips, 60-0 braking and feet, max speed, and a clock. Its awesome honestly. Here is a video of a run to 100 mph...

Not bad looking. I guess I could do the analog. Didn't see any pics of any installed so it was not appealing.

An extra hundo just for those features and all I want is a trip odometer. The atach I am looking at has no source for feedback and it does not say if the odometer can be reset.

Mine would look better but I am not planning on keeping this dash so I quickly threw it in before leaving the track. I figured speedhut is a good company and their stuff wont let me down. I dont use all of the features but they were cool to play with. It picks up signal fairly quickly too, it has signal before my truck is warmed up enough to move. My only negative for the gauge is sometimes the button doesnt respond when I push it, like I need to push it twice sometimes and thats odd. Could be me not hitting the button hard enough or alittle crooked so it doesnt depress the switch. Good luck on finding one tho, there are plenty to choose from it seems

Yea, the speed hut comes off as a get what you pay for item. Pretty sweet you can get it with signal indicator and bright light indicator built in if you choose.

It may not be an option for you but I'm using an old no service samsung infuse smart phone as a gps speedo. I don't know how accurate it is but the app I'm using has an odometer. The speed function is accurate enough to keep from getting a ticket

Ive got an app called Speedview , for my smartbox. You can set you phone on the dash and it reflects off the windshield. Not sure if it has an odometer?

Do a google search on "digital GPS speedometer". You get some pretty interesting results. Not much for cars. But there are some interesting parts for motorcycles and boats.

http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/gpsspeedometer.htm

But, like you, I couldn't find anything that had a trip meter.

Dakota Digital makes about the best digital automotive gauges on the market. That's pretty much all they do. But none of their digital speedometer are GPS. Most are electronic, and require a signal from a sender mounted in the trans - just like stock.

But, they do make a GPS interface box that will work with just about any electronic speedometer. Not cheap, but would give you exactly what you're looking for.

Autometer makes something similar. http://www.ampcustomshop.com/gear/220/9197/

Yup, glad I'm not the only one coming up empty for the trip reset.

Speed hut will get the go I'm sure, just gonna take a bit longer to justify the extra hundo. Will be sweet keeping the flashers and brights indicators.

That's why you get an old phone and mount it permanently. Certain stand alone nav units also have trip apps/functions that will do what you want

In this day and age of cheap universal computing there's really no need to resort to buying dedicated digital hardware

I am desiring the in dash setup, nothing off the wall. I do something like that on the fly, not permanent.

Zones, I know its just another app not what you need but I use DigiHUD in my Elco. It has 3 trip. And you can reset them. I check my mileage with fillups.

I have a Nordskog performance instruments 6 gauge digital in dash cluster that I bought like 10 years ago. jegs used to sell all there products..they went out of business and now jegs sells practically identical or same thing under the jegs name ..you can get them in red or blue.. I would get blue its better as I have seen both in person.. they have a aftermarket gps speedo for it and it has a odometer and trip..
part number 555-41625 on jegs
